Purpose of a career is to maximize income and earnings with less effort. Enjoy your time off with family & more money in your pocket. Believe me, the flying and PIC time will come if you think that matters or will matter in the months and years to come. So many have the competitive PIC and background not getting called.

PDT guys would love to trade places with you. They are getting abused with tons of flying and crazy schedules & not even the pay or recent LOA benefits that we have. Guys there are waiting a long time for CA training.

My perspective is to enjoy the CA pay and time off as the company figures out it’s training inefficiencies as Winter Is Coming. At least your getting CA pay, as many others before you did not. I agree with your perspective on the training backlog, delay, and so much wasting of money and inefficiencies on type training. It’s laughable.

No. I can't, and won't, go into details of the HR issue, but because of it, there were multiple instances of being assigned RSV days against the contract etc etc. My sick day is my problem, obviously.

While I appreciate the sentiment, wouldn’t getting out to the line ASAP be advancing your career more than going through an entire second training event? If you were more worried about advancement you would have taken the extra 5 hrs/month of pay and you’d be hitting the line on the 145. I think deep down you’re just a little mad you are currently a 145 CA to be.

Surely there's some language in there somewhere that would get me out of the starting within 14 days clause. They've been screwing me around for a month now and I'll be furious if they can't work this out. What a waste to go through 145 LT and immediately go back to 175 LT. It's a 100% wasted type on their part.
If they wanna waste the money, let em. I was drafted from DFL to MCE back in January, right after I finished my fed ride, I got awarded DCL, currently in the home stretch on sims. The company chose to drop 5 figures and lose 4 months of line flying from me just to get 2 months of 145 CA time from me, less than 50 hours. Most of those 2 months was airport standby, and I hardly flew.

Anyone know first hand or has talked with someone who was assigned flying on reserve for having more than 800hrs 121 time? Are trips added during the transition or are you open to receiving flying all month? Is it set up like a composite line where you're on reserve until you get 11 days off?

Not first hand experience here but the LOA spelled it out pretty clear. The flying is added before the month. During the month RSV days function like regular RSV days.

Yeah they add the flying after ATTOT window closes until the contractual month starts. Keep an eye on your schedule, they tried to add flying after the month started, had to call the union to get it removed.

You wouldn't happen to have a reference, would you? I've read through 18-01 and 18-02 and I can't find the info about this.

Never mind, found it on our ALPA site. Thanks

For those interested (you'll need to be logged into the alpa site): Link

The changes would be located under Section 12.E.5.j , but our contract on MyMobile365 hasn't been updated to reflect this. Or maybe it won't be because it's temporary. Who knows?

If crew scheduling calls you while on a RAP and they don’t leave a message, are you required to call back?

If not required, but on probation, do you guys recommend calling back anyway?

Also, what’s up with text messaging? Also got a text that is from an unidentified phone number that just says, “Please cal xxxxx” with the CS number listed. No assignment, nothing.

A text message is not an approved method of communication. And if they didn’t leave a voicemail, then I would assume it was a wrong number calling.
