Brutal.

The schedulers get especially spicy late at night sometimes.

You should've been assigned one, but if you slipped through the cracks then, yeah, reach out to the ENY ALPA membership committee. The contact is on the ENY ALPA page, but if you can't find it, PM me.

Because they legally don’t interupt your rest by calling you at midnight without a flight assignment.

That is unless you’ve been notified prior (i.e. HI6 for default 4 am RAP day one)
Not necessarily. If you've had a legal rest period, they can just call you at 0400 and assign you a 0600 standby.

All that's required in this example is you dutied off by 1800 the day prior, or it was a day off.

So in my case if I just didn’t confirm and when they called me at 0601 and asked why I’m not at the airport for standby and I had a screen shot of my default rap they would just tell me to come in at 0801? Or would they give me a pg and it would’ve been a talk with the chief pilot?

Are reserve rules being updated anytime soon. I know PSA has something in the works.

It would've never gotten that far. You already had a confirmed assignment from the default RAP via HI6. End of story. When the next day desk is going through confirmations, they'd see you hadn't confirmed the new S1 assignment that they tried to pin on you, and they'd see that you already had a Default Rap at 6:01. They would've put you back on your RAP at 6:01. Period. Worst case, they would've called you at 6:01 and had you come in and finish the rest of the S1 shift from 8:01-2:00.

Last I heard, the Negotiating Committee was in talks again with the company over RSV. But keep in mind, this will be like the 4th or 5th attempt in the past few years to try to come to an agreement on new RSV rules. I'm not holding my breath.

You don’t work here do you? If you are on reserve then you are back on duty (long call) at midnight the next day. So when they call you past midnight then you are legally required to have ten hours of rest. You can not wave this.
