So an FO displaced to CA in a seat they do not desire is not seat locked and may preference bid to get a seat they do desire in subsequent system bids.
Are they (displaced FOs) only able to get the top 30% of seats available to them on subsequent bids like other CAs, or can they bid for and have available 100% of the other equipment CA seats. Not sure how to ask that or if it makes sense. Do the same equipment change rules apply for displaced FOs as CAs who had preference bid? Is it tracked?

Looking at the prelim results, there’s a guy hired on April 2017 that got awarded captain. No previous 121/135. Did all his hours with Envoy. So his upgrade time was 1year and 6months. Less than advertised by the company (finally haha), it think they advertise 2.5yrs
I got the upgrade award back in OCT ‘17 exactly at 1.5 years of service as well, no prior 121/35 time, and I am an April 2016 hire. So it’s not entirely uncommon.

They will try, but you can only be used for a CDO. Usually you let then know about it they talk to a supervisor and realize it. They can have you work the night flight and deadhead back in the morning as a CDO so they can still cover the trip.

Exactly...
14 CFR 61.51.e.1.(i) a sport, private, commercial, *airline transport pilot* may log flight time whenever the pilot is the sole manipulator of the controls of the aircraft for which the pilot is *rated*, or has sport pilot privileges for that category and class of aircraft, if the aircraft class rating is appropriate, or when (ii) The pilot is the sole occupant of the aircraft.
Many usefulness of flight time without taking off and landing.
OP, not take anyone’s word for it speak to you local FSDO, they’ll tell you the same thing.
Your fine logging it. It’s known. But good educational opportunity to check with your local FSDO/local DPE, company Check Airmen/CPO.

But if you want to log it, it's your logbook, I wouldn't judge either way, I just read the reg differently.

Just noticed my class date in my HI10. I should be doing a quick upgrade, but noticed I’m in training for nearly 2 months. Does that include IOE or is that just my class/sim footprint? Also, does QU still go for 2 days and then home for CBT’s?

That’s correct. They will adjust back down once you finish sims.
