I actually agree with you. The whipsaw among multiple cheap UEX feeds is running out of steam and that game is coming to an end. United will have to pay up more for regional feed.

Yeah you need a good 1.5 years of experience to upgrade to captain I’d say. A couple of winters would be nice.

Then after a couple thousand hours move on to a real airline. You know, show a little fortitude, send out some applications. Study up for some interviews. Be a man.

You really have it out for the lifers don’t you. Times are much different now than they were much of the past two decades. Timing is a big part of this industry.

1. The HR folks at legacy carriers don’t much care for “lifers”.

2. What do you have against these people finishing out their last 10 years as senior regional captains?

3. You hit the jackpot on timing in this business. Have a little understanding for those who didn’t have as good a luck.

Nothing. Just don’t understand the high expectations. It’s a regional. It won’t change. It’s meant to be a place where you pay your dues. It’s your choice to stay.

It has improved greatly over the past few decades. How do you explain that if you say “it won’t change”.

It has changed largely because of the changing market place for pilots willing to work at a regional. To say “it will never change” is simply ignorant. This segment of aviation is constantly changing.
