G7 is only a temporary thing. Built on the back of the 550 which is already a run out 700. When United is eventually forced to pay up and consolidate G7 could be the first to go. Don’t tell CPP but XJT will be a part of the consolidation in spite of our Union’s best efforts to tank the operation. G7 may or may not be. What G7, Compass and TSA all need is to also be bought by United, clearing the way to be included in the merger. As long as TSH is a thing I’d steer way clear.

Then after a couple thousand hours move on to a real airline. You know, show a little fortitude, send out some applications. Study up for some interviews. Be a man.

Yeah you need a good 1.5 years of experience to upgrade to captain I’d say. A couple of winters would be nice.

2. What do you have against these people finishing out their last 10 years as senior regional captains?
3. You hit the jackpot on timing in this business. Have a little understanding for those who didn’t have as good a luck.

1. The HR folks at legacy carriers don’t much care for “lifers”.

It has improved greatly over the past few decades. How do you explain that if you say “it won’t change”.

It has changed largely because of the changing market place for pilots willing to work at a regional. To say “it will never change” is simply ignorant. This segment of aviation is constantly changing.
