That was me and I replied thinking I was countering a statement by someone who said all classes were full. But I think the 9/16 class is an outlier. 20ish in the previous 2 classes and I hear a big class next week.

274 people on the current seniority list have hire dates of 6/24 or later and that includes the 9/16 class. So.....almost 90 per month at least starting training for the past 3 months..... ("at least" because some additional number may have already quit).

Compared to prior to June 25th.....30ish in the 1st ~half of this year and 50-60 in each of the previous 3 years. These are numbers remaining on the list - no clue how many actually started training from those hire dates.

They seem to be getting the training dept ramped up and seem to be able to recruit and land the goals of 600 for this year and another 600 for next. Attrition seems to be continuing,...... I think these two factors spell "movement".

They already have 600 for next year? Kudos quite the turnaround. Still a net lose tho right?

Has anyone heard rumors about EWR closing as a base, with all EWR flying being given to C5?

I have, nothing concrete I’m also not even in class yet. Was told EWR may be closing because C5 was moving in and XJT may open another base in the SouthEast. Rumors though, grain of salt.

First I've heard about that. I heard of a rumor of growing CLE to support EWR. When EWR goes to crap, they can still get crews and pilots out of CLE.

Probably will be Dulles base for the 145’s and 175’s. United hinted at growing IAD a year ago, making it more feasible for connections rather than EWR. Republic has a EWR base for the 175’s already and GoJet is moving in as well.

So you're saying that we are going to leave a base and give all the flying to Commutair, then move and open a new base at Commutair's other base?

This is exactly how United runs their regional partners.
