So even with all of this turnover that so deeply concerns you there will be no opportunity for TPIC here for the next 14 years or whatever. I see the logic. Makes sense.
My number one concern going forward is the likelihood that United would just as soon bury XJT than engage in negotiations with such an unprofessional bunch of sissies. You do realize that a group of 20+ year regional pilots offers absolutely no value to the parent company. You folks are all gonna negotiate yourselves right out of a job!
At this point it makes more sense to just open an IAH and ORD base for Commutair and just dissolve XJT. Oh wait, what are those Commutair rumors?!
Everyone seems so certain I’m management so I guess you heard it hear first! Union spreads “truth” about XJT, XJT can’t meet hiring goals, XJT dissolves! Congrats oh fearless Union leaders!!
If you really want to keep people from coming here, I’ve got a better narrative for you: “Don’t come to XJT, when the next recession hits we are sure to be the first to go because we have such a top heavy pilot group weighing us down! And they want a friggin raise!”
First rule of negotiation, know your own value. XJT Union’s perception of the value of its own pilot group is VASTLY overinflated.

More Data Points
Flew with a 3 yr FO. They're applying to be a street captain at Envoy. And they can go to CA upgrade in the next 3-4 months.
Re: Value of the pilot group. Well, anywhere from 0 to a lot. 0 if they just are going to milk us and shrink to where it's not worth it, more if they want more regionals to whipsaw against each other. You make a guess. I dunno.
Attrition: We have lost basically 3 regional airlines worth of pilots between us and ASA in a few years. We have about the same on the combined list as we did two years ago BEFORE combining.
And yet, with all this movement, everyone's schedule still sucks. You explain that.
We aren't saying don't come here, we're saying at minimum "Consider other options because it's been going downhill for years and years and nothing has changed with this new deal." Or how about: "Roll the dice. You could do worse."
What would you rather us say? "Meh, it's not the worst place." That would be accurate none of these are hardly a ringing endorsement.
Here's one: Get a free type and go somewhere else for a big bonus. That makes sense too.
Know this: there is a big cross section here of all types of personalities. ACROSS THE BOARD, I have yet to talk to anyone who is optimistic.
HOPEFUL, yes. But hope is not a strategy.
That's not a few whiners. That's an unhappy pilot group.
But hey, YMMV.

Airline shrinks, QOL goes down, Airline grows, QOL goes up. I don't understand why this simple concept escapes so many. You and I both know this pilot group has no shot of negotiating QOL. None.

You're right. They have this little thing called flow. They either all left when they felt a sinking ship about 4 yrs ago (like this place) or later flowed to American. That took the lifers off the top.

Ringing endorsement that no one seems to understand that new hires are your only chance of actually improving QOL.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! Guess what, United doesn’t want our baggage. We have no leverage with which to negotiate. The ONLY shot we have to improve QOL is to bring new hires IN, regardless of where you stack up in the food chain. Youth would actually improve our stock and give us a better position from which to negotiate! The Union narrative is asinine!!
