Well I’d agree that there are seasonal reductions in the fall. However, if you look back this year there’s a different story to tell.

Let’s take Chicago, for instance,

December 2018 - 65 lines
January 2019 - 61 lines
February 2019 - 60 lines
March 2019 - 60 lines
April 2019 - 55 lines
May 2019 - 53 lines
June 2019 - 55 lines
July 2019 - 53 lines
August 2019 - 53 lines
September 2019 - 51 lines
October 2019 - 49 lines

It’s almost like there’s a distinct pattern here.

For the uninitiated here, the “lines” represent actual schedules that are bid on by pilots every month. If you’re too junior to hold a line, then you’re going to be on reserve. Reserve is bad. Also, when the amount of lines available are reduced every month, you’re basically moving away from a hard line when you should be moving toward it. Just being honest.

Appreciate the honesty, disturbing trend for sure. Question though, is this on just the 145? I’d assume the 175 has taken some of those lines, or is this a combo?

Those are 145 lines. The 175 base does not open until sometime early next year.

So how do we get more lines, or get lines back? More Pilots?

That’s what they are saying, but they can’t hire enough to even cover attrition at this point, much less grow.

Hopefully that’ll change with new contract and more 175s 🤷*♂️

NOT normal stuff. CommutAir has added more block hours every month, including more hours for Nov. than we had in Oct.

Yet you are still at C5?? You were one of the first dudes to bail out of XJT. You’re in the CPP (supposedly) why haven’t you left?
