Does anyone know if the agreement that 25% of United classes are supposed to be ExpressJet Pilots is still a thing?

You are spot on. It’s 1,000 hours and 1 year less than the old program. That’s a big deal. I think it will be a challenge to make it through and I guess it has to be. They can’t hire every expressjet pilot. Everyone can go chase flows if they want and I guess that’s what some people are doing. I am happy to be here , happy the union is fighting for us but its upsetting to see the attitude some people have. They expect the world to bow down to them. I was in the workforce 15 years before coming here and if I wanted a promotion I really had to stand out and fight for it. You didn’t have a 25% chance of getting the promotion you were dreaming about.

Love how the email from the other day acted like this was an exciting new program. This is the same thing as the CPP only they dropped the Hogan and added a technical portion to the interview. What a joke

It is seemingly gone, now all who pass the interview are lumped into a pool of First in First out. I think in some ways it could be faster in others could take much longer.

Most jobs pay you for your experience level. An astronaut could apply to any regional and be stuck making first-year pay. The I am just happy to be here attitude is the reason regional pay is still substandard.

This new “Aviate’’ is going to cause a mass exodus from the UAL regionals to the LCCs. No one is happy with what United rolled out...United has no choice but to raise regional pilot pay to retain pilots.
For what it’s worth, it was/is the same at Endeavor with getting on at Delta via the SSP and now DGI. The well liked captains got told no, whereas some real head scratchers got picked up

So if I Opted In to the CPP, but do not apply to Aviate, am I good? I looked for a way to Opt Out of CPP yesterday, but couldn’t find anything on the CPP page. United isn’t even my first choice major anymore, but I still want the ability to apply off the street and to not get roped into this Aviate deal.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say if you’re working for a UAX regional they’re going to want to know why you’re not ‘participating’.

Easy, because my path to United should be shorter as an OTS hire.
