If there was a merger between XJT and C5 in the future, where do you guys think Trans States would fall in? Is it likely that all 3 companies could be brought together under Mana Air?

I also never said that XJT would get the new Embraer. I said it would be a replacement for the 145 as in an industry replacement for the 145. Akin to how the 737 and MD80/90’s replaced the 727.

Did you not have to study reading comprehension as a kid?

I did some searching and can’t find any info on Boeing telling Embraer to build a new airplane. Can you point me in the right direction or can you share some cliff notes from the meeting

Nope. SK was quoted in a Routers article last week. Saying that airlines consolidating their regionals have “no clear value”.

I also don’t think there will be a merger. The only thing that’s coming is a base realignment, which we were told months ago was going to happen. Depending on if it’s your base or not will determine how “bad” that could be. If it’s your base your getting displaced. If it’s not a displaced pilot may find themselves further down the seniority list at their base.

I feel for the guys over at TSA. Canceling new hire classes doesn’t look good. Hopefully it’s just a temporary thing.

I don’t think so, TSA is part of a whole different holding.

Base realignment is not good for anyone. If you are at the base displaced pilots come to you lose seniority and you have a bunch of ****ed off pilots to fly with.

With that said it isn’t XJT doing the realignment, it’s the mainline partner. To some extent you should have known that this is the business you were getting into before you ever signed up.

As far as TSA, I agree. They probably are not in the plans for any type of merger. Although nothing would surprise me. United can’t afford to watch any of their regional feed pilots walk.

I’m aware of that. It’s just that the future of TSH is uncertain with how Compass is doing and now TSA stopped hiring. If Commutair and Expressjet were to merge and consolidate the 145s I was just wondering where that would leave Trans States. Also, with the expansion out west, it would be interesting to see what effect it might have on the TSA Denver base. It seems like flying was already reduced in DEN for TSA.

We are finally starting to see these mis-managed regionals that don't care about their pilot groups start to implode (Compass, now TSA). These companies won't be around much longer if they don't offer a flow to a LLC or start paying REAL wages. The USA has never seen a supply and demand job market this lopsided in (favor of the pilots) as what is about to happen in 2020 and beyond.

And what makes this place any different from TSA?
