A grain of rock salt...XJT is still issuing CJO’s too. Skywest has a pool of applicants they have postponed and need to put back into training. It’s too early to tell if this comment was actual management plans, or lip service to the UAL pilot group. Our TH is on Saturday so I’ll be interested in hearing how SK and SH respond. Not that I will believe it either.

SK and SH will keep us here until the fire burns out. Just like Compass did to their group until they got told they were done at the end of the month. Giving us some type of hope to cling on.

One is ownership of the jets.. SkyWest and Republic own most of there jets.. Second is cost to move them over, or cost to acquire more 80-76 seat jets. (UA doesnt have the Capital and “shell companies” like C5/XJT don't have the credit or capital.. Plus more RJ won’t even be needed in 6months-3 year time frame... just bad luck. Good luck to us all..
Have you considered the debt associated with “owning” all those planes? Why do you think that arrangement is appealing to mainline carriers in the first place? It takes more cash flow to feed that monster. Republic and SkyWest are by no means safe.

There is no such thing as a "safe" airline during a financial meltdown. Owning your own aircraft and having more assets by far puts an airline at a much higher advantage and positioning for recovery in a highly competitive industry.

OO/RP are in no means safe at all. OO sold XJT for 70 million cash and assumption of certain debt.. United is burning more cash/loss of revenue per day then the cost of The XJT purchase.. would they be in a good position to and more to that right now.. were all just as screwed.. good luck to us all especially the 50 seat operators...

I can always count on coming to this site to listen to mostly young dorky guys, who’s first job in life is flying an RJ, pretending to be the CEO of some of the world’s largest companies, telling us the secrets and sage wisdom going on behind the curtains.
My popcorn’s ready.
