Its sell out like you John that except crap contracts because u believe there is a future in this business...they use you and throw you away, ala Comair. My advice to you son is to sit back and let us handle this if you don't have the back bone then get out of our way. We fought for and got a industry leading contract in 04 and with co workers like you it appears were gona have to do it again... for you!

Don't worry your wide body seat should still be there in ten years...

That's fine, let it drag out as long as it takes. Let the managements continue to waste money on the redundancies that exist till they can get their act together. I'm fine with working under the current XJT CBA till a better deal comes along, and refuse to take ANOTHER concession.

You still haven't answered the question, whey do you think it will go to arbitration? How long have you worked at ASA? Did your current contract come from arbitration? Or was it simply drug out forever till the MEC and management FINALLY agreed on something and it was voted in by the piilot group?

How is ASA's DAL flying different than XJT's CAL flying?

Someone I know interviewed today. They told her the SLI would be complete by this October, with a 12 month fence. SLI by October? They must be indulging on very fine columbian or know something we don't.

Oh and FWIW, that person was told everyone will be going to Xjet and they will like it.

1. No Arbitration.
2. Chief Pilots have no idea how long it will take...they're management.
3. The best that can be said by SH or any other chief is that they "hope" it will be complete by October, they have no control over the timing of the JCBA or SLI.

It's amazing how ever present the downfall of this industry is even on these message boards. I am so sick of people willing to sell their soul for a quick upgrade and a seat at mainline. If the contract is anything less than our pre-concessionary contract, I am out of this place. The ability to have full control over our schedule will never be returned if lost. Ignorance is clearly not bliss in this case. People don't understand how good they can have it, so they aren't willing to fight for it. Or they would rather live in misery for a chance to get to mainline quicker. PATHETIC.

Here, this says it better:

...all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed...

Excerpt from the unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America

All I want is a good contract. I don't care about what XJT had back in the day, or who thinks their ish stinks less. If its an improvement over what we have, its a start. An improvement for me is: improvement in some work rules like what XJT has now in regards to reserve, vacation, retirement and such and a few dollars a hour more, and I would be happy. Oh, and no PBS. I don't see how fighting with each other will get anyone a good contract.

So let me get this straight...Pretty much the XJT contract as it exists would be a huge improvement for you. So you want all these gains for you, plus more money although you just got a raise with LOA 11 for accepting PBS.

As for the XJT guys the fact that they are working under concessions is of no concern to you. They should realize they already have a good contract (by your standards), that they have everything you want, and that should be good enough for them. Oh by the way...XJT should help ASA get rid of the crappy PBS system that your pilot group voted in and with that everything will be fine and dandy....for YOU!

A bit one sided don't you think?

PBS is working just fine. No one asked you to help get rid of it.
