Any chance you can provide us with details of the "unstacking" language/process of the ASA PBS system?

As for the XJT guys the fact that they are working under concessions is of no concern to you. They should realize they already have a good contract (by your standards), that they have everything you want, and that should be good enough for them. Oh by the way...XJT should help ASA get rid of the crappy PBS system that your pilot group voted in and with that everything will be fine and dandy....for YOU!

A bit one sided don't you think?
So what would you like to see? We need to have these discussions in order to get the best contract we can get. I hope they let you guys do mock bids or something with PBS, it is so much better then crap. If the reserve rules are not improved I know what my vote will be.

Nobudy, buys something knowing from the get go there gona loose money...other then.our government!!!
.
You guys better be willing to walk away from this company because I am and will... they will never get me to take a POS to many airlines are gona be hurting for pilots in the future so I have options to go just about anywhere...so if I leave this company in ruins when I leave then its just a little bit of sweet justice...THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE GETTING, THEY WANTED US WE DIDN'T WANT THEM!!!!! Yeh, yeh, yeh we would have failed just like Mesa.

CAL has 200 plus a/c and they need someone to fly them so wise up guys and fight for what we had and then some. You guys at ASA would love even our concessionary contract so that is the starting point for me.....period! I can work as long as they want to under this contract I enjoy making 178 an hour...

How long till someone says that the reason you failed...NOT! Its **** poor management fault, run and airline lean for years and sooner or later its gona bit you in the butt...but we at XJT are gona have a summer of us and enjoy it....so johnpeace you can sell you ass because you love your job me im gona get everything I can because im a capitalist and that's america...there will always be another job...

$178.00 an hour? Double time or????

There was no raise with PBS in my opinion. All they did was give us another year of a 1% increase after the contract becomes ammendable. To me that's just a slap in the face saying that they weren't planning on playing ball when a new contract was due.

Yeah, that 200% for red flag pick-up. That's better than some 777 captains. I heard from one of your guys that the ASA negotiation chairperson walked out on management when they tried to negotiate something similar for you guys. I think it was because PBS wasn't working right or something like that!

Yea, PBS is awesome....how are those 12 hour 4 days working for ya? Sure, you might get a line you don't like at express, but you have the ability to turn it in to whatever you want reguardless of senority. You want weekends off? Done. Two days? Done. Work 60 hours? Done. You guys like PBS because coming from what you had before, it is better. Coming from what we have, it SUX. I haven't flown with one guy since the merger that will even consider voting for anything that even had PBS in the language. You ASA guys can whine about how you like PBS all you want, we're twice as big, so its a non-issue. You might as well start educating yourselves on what we have. I don't think we will need too many ASA guys to vote out PBS, we already got that one covered thanks.

I'm not going to argue whether PBS is good or bad, but I know one of the problems were the actual pairings, which was one of the reasons we had those
crappy 14hr.; 4 day trips. The ATL CRJ200 flying just sucks, too many short legs. Now we have 18/19/20hr. 4 day trips, but you have a lot of 5-7 leg days.

Same problem for XJT in ORD and CLE.

However, it's NOT a line bid VS. PBS problem, it's a pairing build problem. Doesn't matter if the pairings are built and placed on lines, or built and awarded via preferences. Garbage in = garbage out.

XJT CBA is contractually limited to 6 legs per day.

I noticed over on the "Major" section of these forums that the APA pilots are happy that American is not trying to push PBS on them and are planning to use the old-fashioned "paper bid" system. There will definitely be merit in exploring the best of both the XJT and ASA contracts, and then improving even further. The main thing is to keep it simple in good, clean language that will minimize misinterpretation.

It's in the PBS LOA, which you have access to. No sense repeating it here.

Although I am not in any way involved with the PBS committee, I do know that unstacking has yet to be used. It probably won't be with the exception of maybe December, and probably only for trips touching Christmas.

But, I doubt it will be used even then. Most people know how to bid, it seems.
