ASA / Expressjet merge pilot groups?

Ya know some of you XJT guys need to lighten up a bit. Getting pretty sick of this we're bigger and better than you so we don't care about your concerns attitude. We are all on the same team now. So how about we all give our opinions and maybe we can come up with something together that will work for EVERYONE. This my way or the highway attitude has gotta go. Oh and god forbid an ASA guy gives his opinion, jump down their throat immediately. I can understand being ****ed about having to take concessions and the way things have been run over there and getting back what you lost plus some more improvements. But ASA pilots are not the enemy, so stop talking like we are. Your MEC is working with our MEC, to get all of us a good contract. So, I'm sure your concerns are being voiced. So take a chill pill and relax and wait and see what we are presented with first, before getting your panties in a bunch. Rant over.

So let me get this straight...Pretty much the XJT contract as it exists would be a huge improvement for you. So you want all these gains for you, plus more money although you just got a raise with LOA 11 for accepting PBS.
As for the XJT guys the fact that they are working under concessions is of no concern to you. They should realize they already have a good contract (by your standards), that they have everything you want, and that should be good enough for them. Oh by the way...XJT should help ASA get rid of the crappy PBS system that your pilot group voted in and with that everything will be fine and dandy....for YOU!
A bit one sided don't you think?

BTW, that raise we got from PBS was 1%. It didn't even add up to a dollar for me. So it wasn't much of a raise.

Yea, PBS is awesome....how are those 12 hour 4 days working for ya? Sure, you might get a line you don't like at express, but you have the ability to turn it in to whatever you want reguardless of senority. You want weekends off? Done. Two days? Done. Work 60 hours? Done. You guys like PBS because coming from what you had before, it is better. Coming from what we have, it SUX. I haven't flown with one guy since the merger that will even consider voting for anything that even had PBS in the language. You ASA guys can whine about how you like PBS all you want, we're twice as big, so its a non-issue. You might as well start educating yourselves on what we have. I don't think we will need too many ASA guys to vote out PBS, we already got that one covered thanks.

As blastoff mentioned, if ASA people took the time to ACTUALLY educate themselves about the line bid/LIW system that XJT has, they'd be singing a different tune.
Yep, we get it, your previous line bid system sucked. That WASN'T XJT's line bid system. Just like the ASA PBS system is superior to just about every other PBS system out there. But at the end of the day, it's STILL PBS, to include the unstacking language.
Beg to differ. If the JCBA doesn't get back the money XJT lost and then some, and it's voted down, that's just longer the two groups remain separate. That ALSO means it's linger you have to work under your current CBA. Therefore, it IS your problem. Like I said, I'm fine working under my current workrules, I WON'T be fine working under ASA's.

Old, but STILL valid argument. With the line bidding, worst case, you ALWAYS know what you'll get. With the ability to fix it in the LIW's.
As opposed to a wish list that can be totally disregarded. And with the nature of the beast that is PBS, very little, if any open time to polish the turd.

I don't know where your getting this notion that we (ASA pilots) want to keep our current work rules and that we want to force them on you. Your work rules are better and I would like to adopt them, as would many of my co-workers. And we did buy you. So what? No one thinks that we are better than you or that you don't have the right to fight for what you want in the new contract. I think many of us are concerned about what I said above. Wanting to burn the place down and drag this thing out and make this process miserable for everyone. Maybe that's what your picking up on. And before you say, I'm not saying we should just bend over and take it. We deserve a good contract that is good and an improvement for everyone. Anything less I will vote no. When I like what I see I will vote yes. Until then I will vote no. You have the right to do the same. Like I said before, chill out and wait and see what our MEC's come up with.

Instead of having all of these internet wizzing challenges, why don't we just let the people who are on the JNC do their jobs. No chest pounding or jersey shore fist pumping on a web board is going to accomplish anything. I get why the XJT guys are upset and I get what the ASA guys want. Lets just let both of our guys do whats in our best interest and when it comes time to vote, vote accordingly.
