Yep!! I always help them with the bags so I don't feel guilty not tipping them lol. Saves me $20 a month at least!! On first year pay you gotta be creative.

I don't want to hear about the paying your dues crap either. If you've gotten to this level nowadays your dues have been paid and you should expect to earn at least a living wage. For all you out there that will boast about the majors hiring good luck with that one. Theirs no pilot shortage in this country I assure you. It's still almost 300 applicants per one open FO position at a major carrier. Our low salaries are a big reason Delta, United and American make a ton of profit. It's off the backs of cheap labor while they dangle the carrot out there. Don't buy into the hype invest in where you are now to improve it and if you wind up being one of the lucky few who go to the majors, congrats.
Junior FO pay needs to be improved. It's not the be all end all but it's a start. Especially at an airline with the best benefits and work rules in the regional industry. And it's not the lucky few going to the major/legacy airlines.... 400 pilots from XJT this year and 150 were FOs... Compared to like 10 total pilots from Mesa.....XJT isn't perfect but the grass is a lot greener then a majority of other regionals. I actually have a real 401k, medical benefits and vacation unlike a lot of our peers... People tend to forget about all that and just see Bonus's and upgrade time....

I'm not buying that dude. At $40/HR that means your crediting over 1500/yr and I seriously doubt that. If you think what you get is commensurate to your skill, education and investment you've made then congratulations your getting exactly all your worth, but don't blow smoke up my a&$ dude I've been around long enough to know BS when I see it. I was comparing base pays theirs always exceptions i.e... you. Source: http://www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/ramp-agent-salary-SRCH_KO0,10.htm
BTW the pay you see here is old and shows the start and top of the slide bar is typically 5 year pay. If you research it you'll see that Delta (not the highest paid) starts their guys out at $13/HR plus quarterly bonuses. 13x160=$2080/month
FO 23 x 75=$1725/month

I agree with you that's why I chose to fly for Expressjet over other offers. Upgrades and bonuses are not the most important things but I personally don't think my salary is commensurate with the investment, education, and time I put forth to get to this point. People are going to the majors sure but how many years have they been at it to get a descent pay check finally, that most start getting right out of college. All I'm saying is it shouldn't be treated as a stepping stone mentality because for a lot of folks it's not. I don't know if I'll get to a major but I do want to improve were I'm at if I can. Status quo gets you no where.

Which is it, Tomcat?

I was on track to coast in near 70k for the year, but then I got quite lazy. I had a few big months around 100 hours, but mostly 85-92 range. Don't ask me to crunch the numbers, but my pay stub doesn't lie.

I was in the middle of editing I'm on my phone. Congrats man I'm glad you are getting by very well, I truly am I've been a professional pilot for a while now and the highest I've ever made in aviation was $40k/yr. Good on you though. I don't know how your doing it the math don't add unless your a Captain or something. Here on the CRJ side though we have passed 10yr upgrade so I'm not even focusing on that yet😊

Don't believe me? Here are some screen grabs for you

Current month of October:

On track to look at around another 130-140 hour month for November as well. You do the math.

Feel free to still doubt me. I never said that what we're paid is what we're worth. I do bust my ass, and I work the system to the best that I can as well. I also live in domicile, which helps out as well. I believe that are worth much more, and I am doing what I can within the means that I have to achieve that. I know we will never have Delta wages, but a start would be higher than where we're at now. I just hear guys say that they can't make any money, when it can be done. It just requires work.

CRJ, maxed out for a while FO.

I'd post screenshots but I don't have the energy to de-personalize like wmu pilot. Which I thought I knew who he was, but by his stub maybe not..

So you believe in paying baggage handlers more than pilots.
