If you're interested there is grievance about this. I complained last month about it and added my name to the grievance. My beef was I couldn't see/bid in initial OT for Feb until Feb 1st when I started on the 700 as I had to fly the 200 for remainder of Jan after completing OE Jan 8th. Don't if anything will be done about it but hopefully future pilots won't have the restriction.

Can someone please explain how these grievances help if the resolution to these are only given about a year later?

Solution: call scheduling and make them read you the open time. That's about the only way things will change. It's really isn't a big deal to me. It's one month every couple years unless you like to change airplanes every bid.

I've learned that about 10% of what you read on these online forums is good info, the other 90% is bunk. I guess this "Friday position notice" unfortunately fell into the latter. Oh well... Just wish the hiring would finally spool up so we could watch the ensuing meltdown that occurs when management's staffing plans go up in smoke due to attrition. And hopefully, I'll hear about it while in new hire training at either United, Delta or American, not while being raped as scheduling goes into panic mode!

The rumor of a vacancy bid is correct according to CT and the women who's head of crew something or other. I asked while they were in our lounge the other day. As for when, they said soon but no set date as their trying to see where they want the vacancies. It's suppose to be "small with few upgrades but nothing like we saw on last vacancy."

Take it for what it's worth and don't get excited as is everything at this company, it's not worth jumping up and down for.
