Looking at the gouge on aviationinterviews.com, it seems that up to 1 week is very normal. They will hold a review board confirming the interviewing representatives recommendation. They sent me a note to confirm if I desired a flight to training no later than noon on 17 July for the 22 July class in Houston.

Honestly not trying to pick at anything here, but how are they going to put out regular position notices through the end of the year when this current notice doesn't take effect until 11/1?

I'd believe that we won't be overstaffed with the 200s leaving since so many pilots are leaving and a LOT more will as DAL and AA open up and UAL picks up again this fall (not to mention US, VX, and JB still hiring) I just don't understand why they made the effective date 11/1.

I've stopped trying to guess what's going to happen next since nothing that happens at XJT ever makes sense. I just let myself be surprised when I see the emails (well, nothing really surprises me anymore)

Were you here during the last two big hiring sprees when they put out two position notices per month? I just was repeating what the girl who puts them out told a friend.

My personal guess is that they will put out one or two more. Maybe one effective 12/1 and 1/1/14. Jan 1 is going to be a big one.

I don't understand how we would continue to hire on the crj side after such a large amount of airplanes is going to be lost. It will dramatically hurt block hours...

Which means less profitability, but better QOL for the ones who have been suffering. Plus they are probably looking at the new rest rules coming into effect to get people through training by then.

Why will jan 1 be so big? Rest time duty time?

DAL will not be hiring enough in the next few years to make anyone notice any attrition. Too many spots are already spoken for by other airlines.

When the new rest rules take effect, 16 hour 4 days will be the norm. Many have warned about the law of unintended consequences, now we will see! The buffer they need to build into the schedules since you are no longer legal to start, legal to finish will leave us well rested......in hotels on the road away from our families for much less pay....same days away. Perfect! We had best all come together and demand another pay system than this antiquated block hour system. Lets go to a straight salary with OT or increase min day or min guarantee. I'm not doing this job for 16-18 days a month for 75 hours. Now THAT will bring on a pilot shortage!

I would love to see something along the lines of 5hr min pay per duty day like CAL has in the JCBA.
