Since 777 Forever is still furiously googling, I'll help him. In a nutshell, NWA went bankrupt and withheld $25m from Mesaba Airlines, while grounding half their fleet. MAIR bankrupted the Mesaba division while keeping MAIR and other sub Big Sky solvent. MAIR later sold Mesaba to NWA and the rest is history.

Delta is currently run by former NWA management.

In September, 2015, ASA (dba ExpressJet) faces the next "rate reset" when we must be the second lowest operating cost carrier in the DCI "portfolio", or Delta has the right to cut our payments to that of the second lowest cost carrier. At least half our 50 seat fleet also expires at that time. SkyWest Inc then has the right to terminate the CPA with Delta, or take the pay cut at that time.

Sound familiar? The cards are falling into place and everything is going according to plan. But don't worry, everyone at XJT will be given the preferential interviews at SkyWest Mainline.

You should see the posts on multiple threads on the pipe about this. Especially the 45 page 500+ post thread that started last week.

1. You get first dibs on seats on XJT flights (Unless a United mainline employee uses thier vacation pass)

2. Basing and equipment assignments are purely based on seniority within your class. If you want an ERJ specific base, then bid all the ERJ bases first in order of preference. You can always switch domiciles later.

3. Reserve isn't that bad. It could definitely be better, but if you live in domicile that'll make it much more bearable. I'm CRJ and our reserve rules aren't as good as the ERJ side.

4. Don't listen to half the crap people post on here.

I have a four word response for you that would be removed, so spin up the hamster wheel and put that tiny imagination to work. It is reality, sorry you don't like hearing it. now get back to right seat in the 170.

One bright spot is another 104 upgrades on the ERJ side for the year. Depending on the bypass rate we should get into the Jan 2007 hires.

Default same ol song and dance

I have only paid attention to the "Major Forum" for years, but I must say with Major interviews still tougher than ever for most of us that this Regional Game of race to the bottom for work seems to be closer to reality than ever. These same topics have been visited for years.
It may be a pipe dream but without One Union that will streamline a reasonable pay for regional pilots and allow Regional's to bid on work based on performance and management as opposed to pilot pay then getting onto the majors will remain simply dumb luck.
Too many qualified pilots at the regional level waiting to move on only to be forced back to FO or out of a job entirely simply because their company lost work to a cheaper pilot group before they could get a major interview.
