Hello all

I would really like to get hired by ExpressJet and have turned down other offers in hopes of hearing from them for an interview. I've had my app in with them for a couple months now and have not heard back from them. I have all the qualifications they require according to the "compare my app" feature on airlineapps.com. I have 2000TT and 55 multi. Can someone please PM me a name and phone number to someone in HR that I can give a call to and make sure they have my app? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

Why would you turn down others? I bet you would get noticed quicker with 121 time... Where did you have offers? Did they use airline apps? If so XJT has your application. Thats quite the gamble putting all your eggs in one basket IMO.

Doug. Research on this board things like quality of life and upgrade time at ExpressJet. I think it is insane to turn down other offers "in hopes" of getting a call here!

QOL. They have a base that's fairly junior in my home town.

Might be a long wait, I have a friend that is currently in training. He has been told by IPs and company management that they are not doing well financially and the threat of pink slips is realistic. He has resigned his seniority # and taken another job.

Regionals open and close bases constantly, especially this one. Don't go to any airline based on base, especially a regional! Go to a regional that can get you PIC time as quickly as possible, then get out! "Legacy" regionals like XJT and Eagle are stagnant. Upgrade time her is 8+ years and increasing as we shrink! This would be a horrible career move right now!

This is a little extreme. We are in a huge contract dispute with management, having just shot down a horrible TA, so of course, management is pouring on the doom & gloom. Things are bad here, but not bad enough that we're at eminent shutdown and layoffs. Don't drink the kool aid.

Thanks for the advice, Tony. I appreciate the insight.

Don't go to an airline based on upgrade time either, if they can't staff, those 1 yr upgrades go away. Either way any regional is any body's guess but I am with you if there was a regional in my hometown I would go for it to make reserve infinitely more bearable.

This is absurd. Our training department is one of the most professional out there. Yes there are a couple sour apples, but they are manageable. If you are worried about a pink slip coming to training, obviously you don't belong in the 121 world. Bring your A game and work hard! The people they are pink slipping/failing out of IOE have some bad landing issues. Possibly even fudging numbers.. who knows?

Tony, you should know TPIC is not everything now days. The risk/reward of going to a low end regional is not worth it. That is why we are losing 2x as many FOs as captains. Network! Network! Network! Plus we are losing 10% of our seniority list and increasing. This will even out with the planes leaving. I expect the 7 year upgrade to stay even for a while. But definitely not increasing.

QoL is huge. Great advice. Ask Mesa new hires how that 2 year upgrade is coming along? Even better, ask the 2007 hires at Mesa how that 2 year upgrade is coming along? Oh yeah... some of them are here because they got furloughed.
