Are you guys seriously giving a guy that's probably been on reserve forever crap for his comment? Geesh guys. That's cold. Real cold…… With that attitude we are never going get out of this slump.

I'm glad someone said it. The attitude we just saw is exactly why reserves are the second class citizens of this airline. Reserve was always intended to be for a few months. Maybe a year. We have FOs who have been on reserve 4 years and captains who have been on reserve 6 years. Any of you who think reserves need to quit whining need to sack up and bid a month of reserve. Only then may you comment.

Hi Guys..
I have a few questions & my apologies if they have been asked before..
I am trying to find a place to work which is easily commutable from SMF. I just hit ATP mins, I have no turbine time or prev 121/135 exp.
What are the Junior bases on the CRJ side that a new hire can expect to get out of training or within a few months??
Thanks...

Excuse the run on sentences and grammar police
You guys bickering back and forth with reserve is going to deter the guys to come in beneath, the plug FO in the company is just as important as the #1 captain, reserve sucks everywhere and I won't jump on you for venting about it
Also just want to let the new guys know the horror stories you hear about captains and FOs with years of reserve is mostly by choice, ATL700 is insanely senior, commuting sucks but one can go from reserve in one base to top 20% in base in some cases. I don't blame guys for not commuting to a line and choosing reserve in base pick your poison. I have to commute no matter what but it's live able
I believe you can hold a line in IAD in under 3 months as they continue to hire two classes a month. Once Daddy D starts full blown hiring soon you'll see mass exodus on the CRJ side.
Hopefully when we get a new TA us veterans remember your time on reserve, I know I do. Years and years and 2 airlines later I will still vote to protect reserve, I hate this screw you pay your dues attitude from some senior guys, we are all on the same team.
And the bashing replies in 3.2.1....

A guy in my class was holding a line directly out of training in IAD. When I thought it was a fluke for first month, he got it again.

Long commute I've done long ones too it's tough but doable. CRJ seems to be a mix of everything a lot of IAD and ATL200, but seems like you can get anything you want almost out of training even guys trying to get into ATL seem to get it on the next position bid after training if not in training. Supposedly there is going to be a position notice every other month now for upgrades and base changing. I wouldn't worry too much about seat locks in 700 etc seems like they lift the locks a lot
