If your local then they'll interview you in ATL, but they can no longer positive space people for interviews in on Delta so they take them to the training center in IAH where they can put them on United.

Thanks for the info. Any word on the gouge for IAH? Got an email for the interview and was told it'd be one day. It states in the email that it would be two days if there was a sim, so I'm guessing there won't be a sim. Any other info on the interview for IAH would be appreciated.

Also, how senior is DFW for XJT? Is it possible to get DFW out of training? Thanks.

I got positive spaced on United to do the interview in ATL. I haven't heard of people being sent to IAH at all. I know XJT is doing on site interviews at job fairs and universities.

DFW is somewhat junior, but not as junior as IAD. However, newhires aren't necessarily placed at the most junior base, they're put wherever they're needed. Some actually get ATL 700 (most senior spot in company). Also, we don't hold regular bids like normal airlines, so mobility is limited. Even worse, they "freeze" newhires, meaning even if they choose to run a bid, you're seat locked for a year (unless they waive the freeze, which they only do when it benefits them).

Sorry if this has been covered already. I am in an upcoming class on the CRJ and would like to be ATL based if/when it becomes possible. Assuming I don't get Atlanta out of training, are any of the bases easy, or more easily commutable from ATL? Thanks in advance for the help.

Try to stay away from hub to hub. Like ATL-DTW.. My guess is ATL-IAD or ATL-DFW would be easier. Most likely IAD more jr.

Looking at Expressjet but have a few questions.
Want DFW base, what are the CRJ bases and which is the junior CRJ base?
What are the flight benefits? If based in DFW do you only get AA flight benefits?
What are the 200, 700 and 900 bases? Is training AQP?
Electronic Jepps? iPads?
Is there cancellation pay? Duty rigs? Is there a link to look at current contact?
When is the current contract up?
Any legit pros and cons would be appreciated. Yes I know about the regional life. Thinking about lateral move to get home based in DFW.
Proud of you all for taking a stand against consessions. A pilot group I'd like to be a part of.

Thanks in advance for the info.

ATL and IAD is junior on CRJ. Getting DTW or DFW out of training is difficult. But things change every month based on attrition and bidding.

You get Delta(you pay $200+taxes)for your family and UA(free of cost-except for friends). You get AA if you are based in DFW.

200-IAD and DFW only
700/900- DTW
200/700/900-ATL

Jepps are Hard copy for now. They are saying might get EFB in 6months to a year.

I am not sure about contract but they is cancellation pay.

Pros and cons- well new to the regional but I like the training program and i enjoy it. Gotta stay positive.

I'll take a stab... DFW relatively JR, may take a few months but people are always transferring where their relative seniority is highest. Most jr CRJ base is IAD. Flight benefits are United and Delta, only get AA benefits of you're DFW based, but they are worthless.. Have to list 3 days in advance... That should tell you enough...

ATL, DFW, IAD are the 200 bases.. DTW and ATL are 7/900 bases. Most jr of those 2 is obviously DTW.... Training is AQP... Currently testing iPads, hopefully be on line by summer 2014. Right now we have to lug everything around. CNX pay is on a leg per leg basis. Duty rig of 3.86 hrs per day. However if a fellow crewmwmber wants you to pick up an Augusta r/t from aTL it's block only, rig won't apply.

Just had a contract vote Jan 14th and got voted down by 83%. Still currently in negotiations.

DFW wouldn't take long.. A lot of people getting hired on and moving out so a lot of shifting around.

Good luck.

Just want to add to that...

iPads are out for right now. Testing a new setup now, which is the Surface.

As for CNX pay, it can be skewed. For example, say you have a round trip, and on the flight out, you do 2 gate returns and eventually cancel. Say the 2 gate returns total block was higher than the block going there, you only get the scheduled block for the round trip.

Example (fake block times):

DTW - CVG: Blocked at 1:05
CVG - DTW: Blocked at 1:25

Say on leg 1, you do 2 gate returns that equal 1:35 (1:00 and 0:35). You would think that your total pay would be 3:00 (1:35 and 1:25 for the cancelled leg). Wrong, it will be 2:30 because they count the 1st gate return as leg 1, and the second gate return as leg 2, the return trip.

Hope that makes sense.
