That’s solely because they manipulate the required staffing numbers and our contract doesn’t have any sort of contractually guaranteed staffing clause.

Most of the confusion is due to our color coded staffing level chart. The chart only looks at reserves not how many OT trips are on those days. If it’s green many assume a drop would be approved. They don’t go and look at how many OT trips are on those days.

You may want to read the contract again and look for the MAX OPEN TIME LOA. It is a permanent LOA at the back of the contract.

It’s sad how many of our guys don’t even understand this. Almost as sad as all the AVA hero’s out there right now.

Too much risk in that. The MDs need to go. We don't need another hull loss with one. That could cripple us if the FAA or Boeing decide to ground them ... as has been rumored before if there was another accident with one.

Spoken like a true FedEx pilot who doesn't fly the MD. Meanwhile, we have the least amount of at risk landings because of our training. Check the numbers from the other fleets. Don't worry our training will be coming soon to a fleet near you.

You’re right. The MD program does have less at risk landings than the other fleets. The problem is at risk landings are much more dangerous in the MD than those fleets. Accident data doesn’t lie. Already had the “MD training”. Yawn.
