Oh your poor souls. The next bid will once again produce less than 3 year 757 Captains and less than 5 year WB Captains. Im sure the industry is singing a song of sympathy.
Sometimes I wonder if we even listen to ourselves. Shameful and embarrassing. Especially when I listen to second year first officers tell me they’re making 400K plus.

Pre-viral or now? Viral year(s) have inflated earnings substantially on the cargo side for many while not having to work any harder(maybe some), pax definitely not so much… Your right, that side of the industry ain’t singing anything at all. Numbers are slowly climbing so eventually they’ll get back on their feet.

Yeah. Ask them why and how they're making that much money. Revisions. Extra legs in a duty period. Company always extending your trips to the maximum allowed by contract. Management loves pilots like this and you. They ruin your QOL for extra money. You get addicted to it. Meanwhile, they come to the table after all of the kudos and want concessions. And there will be some carrot dangled in front of y'all which will make you fall for you.

Nowork and his friends are always comparing the size of their paychecks. They love telling everyone who will listen how much money they make. Makes me think that they are trying to compensate for other shortcoming!

Ive been here a long time. Never got to 400k. Close to 350k once. Pay rate times 1000 is your pay unless you are a flex bro or intl or airho. There is also a reason guys can hold the bottom percentages of the left seats...

Thats a good point. He did start a W-2 comparison thread once. It was cringe-worthy and not in good taste. They can’t help themselves. They’re addicted to the crack and management loves them. They know that these are the guys who block calendars and fly extra extra when things get ugly. They are the do as I say, not as I do types. I’ve seen it a million times on the triple. Guys will say, “But I had to accept the trip. Do you know what I’m being paid?????”
As stated above, a domestic widebody captain flying their line and a little extra would be hard pressed to crack 400K.
