That’s a terrible analogy - wearing jeans on a DH harms no one, FedEx brand and reputation included. Smoking in someone else’s car, you’re liable to get your ass kicked.

I don’t know about you but I can walk and chew gum at the same time. This is just one pet peeve of mine but I don’t think having this discussion takes away from the importance of anything else. So if you don’t want to indulge me in this conversation, please feel free to take yourself out of it.
With that said, I have family members who are FAs. They don’t know anything other than your name and status. And like you said, they don’t care what we wear anyway. And it is the point that was made earlier in the thread. My point is that the very airline you are deadheading in doesn’t care because they allow their own deaheadeders to wear what any other passenger can wear. And that’s why FAs or anybody else at the airline doesn’t care. Now, a gate agent can find out by looking up your locator.

And after that, ask them about their political affiliation, religion, how much money they make, thoughts on gun rights, where they stand on the border and immigration…make sure to do this all after you tell them you’re totally laid back, easy going and have thick skin in the CRM brief. And when you drink your skinny margarita alone on the layover even after offering to buy your FO beers, you can write some more of your great thoughts on effective team building here on APC.
And no I’m not saying don’t support the union but there’s an effective way to lead….and then there’s….well you can finish the thought.
cheers

Not sure why my leadership is coming into question by asking my coworkers if they're supporting the union. Wow.

ALPA just had a meeting today at the AOC. On FedEx property….. It’s part of our job. If people don’t like that then leave to a none union airline.

Believe what you want. I've had an FA show me otherwise. Do they care what we wear? No. Not the point. I can't believe that people are worried about whether or not you can wear the jacket liner and why we aren't suppose to wear jeans on a company purchased ticket. Maybe we should worry that the negotiating chairman is saying that UPS has the industry leading pay rates when if you use United's last 777 pay rate and date of implementation and forward it to May of this year, it far outpaces the current UPS pay rate. Let's talk about that and not worry about not being allowed to wear jeans on a deadhead. Let's put on our big boy pants!

My point is that if you address your crew like you do here you’re setting a terrible tone and likely pushing them away from supporting OUR team. You said yourself you’d fine a guy for not showing up at a union meeting (without asking why) or kick them out for not agreeing with your view. Cancel culture mentality.

Don't like that analogy, ok. What if you told them not to eat in your car. They did anyway. No food or drink was spilled. Nor residual odor from the food. The only reason that you found out was you found part of a straw wrapper in the car. The person you loaned your car to thought your rule was stupid, so they ignored it. No one was hurt. You and your cars' reputation weren't harmed. Would you loan the car to them again? Feel better now with a different analogy?

You are an absolute clown. UPS has the highest pay rates currently. End of story. Simple statement. We are not talking about forward projections but current fact’s. A projection isn’t what shows up on a pay stub. An actual ratified pay rate does. You’re constant divisive drivel is amusing and shows who you truly are. The laughing stock!
United's last pay rate was effective as of January 1, 2019. Their contract has been amendable since then and they are still in negotiations. If they agreed to a 1% pay increase per year for the 777 since the last pay rate, they would be ahead of the final UPS pay rate. If you don't think that matters, you have achieved the impossible and made me think you are even more stupid than I thought possible. What you are suggesting is that if it takes three years to get a contract, we should only consider pay rates that have been ratified, regardless of how old those rates are.
Oh, you still haven't told me who I am. You say you know, but won't say. I know why, because like everything else you say, that is bullsh**.

No. I never said I’d kick someone out of the union for not agreeing with me.
I said, if I were Chairman, I’d make these big meetings mandatory. Of course people will have valid excuses. My point is, if you don’t do what union members are supposed to do, why be in the union? Why should the union afford you the protections they provide if you’re not doing your part?
That’s my point. And I don’t think it is unreasonable.
I recently flew with a pilot who was pro pancakes. We had a good discussion about them. After our discussion the flight landed safely without any degradation in safety. This is what adults and professionals do.
I challenged FXlag because he knew more than he did. He played the, “I’ve got a secret” game why throwing the union under the bus. I’m not an apologist for the union but understand the challenges of why our meetings are not electronic. Let the process work. But in the mean time, get involved. These people volunteer. Yes we pay them but they put up with a lot more than I could eve deal with. And they do it to make sure the company doesn’t steam roll us. All I’m asking is that when they ask us to show up for a meeting that is held like once a year, we show up.
