Didn't take long for the lack of any details to bring out the whiners.
Time for popcorn.

Where did you get that number? The last contract’s pay banding significantly improved the number of pilots enjoying the top rate. Certainly still not close to Fedex’s percentage though.

There are 4500 pilots at United on the 777/787. If they can attain DL rates or more, then the argument that we should not— because all our pilots minus the 757 fleet— are on the highest scale is mute. If they can pay 4500 pilots the highest rate, FedEx certainly can pay 4500-5000 the same, if not more. We certainly generate more revenue.

That is of course, they can attain DL rates. Which I can’t imagine they would not.

So we should operate our widebody aircraft at a discount because DL operates a small amount of widebody aircraft?

FWIW, DL has a little over 3,000 active pilots on the top pay-banded aircraft, and a fairly large WB expansion bid is forthcoming in the next couple weeks.

362 versus 289is absurd.
Don't think that's going anywhere. Having a junior airplane gives one options. How many two year 757 Captains does UPS have?

Does Purple actually have any or just on paper?

No two year 757 captains, except management but having a single pay scale offers a junior pilot more options, such as flying the 747.

There are a couple who were activated prior to their 2-year anniversary.
