Math. I could be wrong. Please check my work.

Current Captain International override 10.00.

May Memphis 77 Line #1005 pays 87.87 * 335.56 = $29485.66

BKO 9.02 * 335.56 = $3026.75

After flying pays $29485.66 + $3026.75 = $32512.41

Actual pay $32512.41 divided by original credit = actual pay rate $370.00.

370.00 - 335.56 = 34.45 increase plus 10.00 override = benefit of +$44.45 per hour.

BKO versus a $30.00 international override. BKO wins on this line.

International trip rig expands a feature that applies myopically to the 777 to include any flying outside of North America.

I have ideas for domestic as well, but those aren’t germane to this discussion.

Try none of the big three fly 747 anymore. When they did it paid more then the 787. RLA governs bargaining not pay rates. I doubt you are a pilot with your lack of knowledge

Ok, I know this sounds crazy and is a novel idea, but, if you want to get the money that is paid in BKO, why don't you bid an aircraft that flies and gets paid BKO?

Sounds like you haven't done the math either. You guarantee a $30 international override would be worth more? Well, I just checked a 777 line that blocks 64 hours in May. The TAFB would pay 76.2 hours. With BKO, it pays 88.8 hours. At our top pay rate in July for the new TA, that 12.6 hour difference is worth $5909 while the $20 difference in current international override would only pay $1524.

So, you want to redistribute pay by taking from the long haul pilots so that you can get more for your MEM-TOR trip? Your post sounds like you think long haul is work, yet you want to take the extra pay from them to get more for yourself rather than bidding to do the work. Socialism???

I think you’ve got it wrong. The extra money people make from BKO is because they are earning it with the wear on their bodies after crossing 10 times zones. Especially with how FedEx has optimized the international flying. You wanna make the big bucks? Then put in the work. Seniority gets you the ability to bid those trips should you desire. It doesn’t give you the right get the same pay as the long haul guys if you are only flying IND-YYZ.

I wouldn’t. I’d get international override on 9 hours per trip instead of 85.

If you break even on BKO or a higher international override why would you even care?
