Congrats Illi.
I'm sure you enjoy the airplane quite a bit.

Congrats also. Quick update on oldest son, who left Flexjet after 9 1/2 years, for American shortly after the 1st of the year. Think he finished ground school and sims in Apr. Started flying the line around May 1. Hoped to get DFW, since that's where he and family live. Of course he got the A-319/321 International out of MIA. That means commuting, crash pad and another vehicle. They have been flying him a BUNCH. LOTS of Latin America. Even some flights to Manaus, Brazil. Arriving at 2200, leaving 26 hours later on an "all nighter" back to MIA at 0500. Also a number of trips to San Pedro, Honduras, the supposed "murder capital" of the world with an average of 3 homicides a day. Luckily, all his trips there have been turn arounds. He had also heard that a BUNCH of office folks in Dallas had resigned rather than take a transfer to CLE. Lets hope they at least keep a pilot base there. I think he sometimes misses Flexjet, but he says now he can stand up straight in the Airbus, unlike the Lear. HA! Hope the merger goes well. May post occasionally, as events warrant

yes some had transfered but all of the training dept is going to stay in Dallas but I heard the Richardson offices are essentially empty

as for a base...it was stay, but there is a list of about 70 cities that you can love in

Default homebased?

I know the answer is probably in here somewhere but I'm having a hard time finding a firm answer. Does FlexJet allow their pilots to be home based and commute to their assigned base? Any allowance for commuting?

Does anyone know why the Netjets website doesn't show application status for a pilot job when logged in? I applied and have an email with req #888. Wondering if my app was actually received.

no "commuting", they positive space you to the plane from your home airport.

That home airport can be from a list of ~70 cities (like netjets)

I guess I don't understand how being flown from a "home airport" to the aircraft is different than commuting.

You more or less live where you want, on your first day, the company buys you a ticket out of your base airport to the plane you will be flying for the 8 days at work(or whatever) then on your go home day, they airline you back there.
Yes it is commuting but not in the airline sense and its on company time.
