It really isn't the Union. It is that someone got their feelings hurt and now they are spending an inordinate amount of money to try and break the Union. Nevermind that 99 percent of the aviation community is organized or that police, firemen, school teachers etc and most large companies all have a Union or worthwhile contracts to fall back on when management does stupid things. I would say that most flex people would say things are much worse under KR. That is not the union's fault or flex's fault. They were specifically purchased with one goal in mind and that was to break the Union. PERIOD!!!

Depends on what "things" you are talking about. I believe that pay, work rules, benefits and so on will get better with a union. However the atmosphere and culture will be difficult to mend. Management will never accept the union and will fight the pilots at every turn. There will also always be anti-union pilots no matter what. If you're on the other side of the fence it can make trips somewhat uncomfortable at times. Because management and the union seem unable to exist happily together, it adds a layer of stress to the job which some have found too much, and so they have left. If you're able to tune out all that noise you may find it doesn't impact you at all.

The arbitrator has issued his ruling. Starting pay is just under $51,000. You will be hired into either the Phenom or the Lear 45/75 fleet. The current pay scales will put you on track to earn just under $83,000 in 15 (FIFTEEN) years. There it is in black and white.

Piliots aren’t leaving because the Airlines are hiring, Pilots are leaving because of the abhorrent treatment by the company.
Anyone that has the ability to hire on at Netjets or ANYWHERE else should do so. Don’t let the shiny new jets fool you, you will be screwed for the chance to fly one.

I’ve got a web interview next week. The past few months of the thread did not look very promising. Anything new coming about? What’s the deal with new aircraft and the Gulfstreams? Do they take forever to get into?

Gulfstreams are in a program called International Red Label. This is KR's dream of how a pilot shoot be treated. Merit based upgrades really aren't. You have to prove you fit in with the good ol boys club. Seniority means nothing. You could be a 19 year PIC and be junior to a guy with less than 7 years in. You form a team and you provide continious coverage. You are required to do 2 stby days on your "days off". Also Captains from Options can "transfer" to Flex and basically get stapled to the bottom of their seniority list.

Yes, more new planes are being delivered. Merit based at Flex is not really merit based. A CR7 will probably get you into the right seat of a Challenger 300/350. Dangling a G-650 in front of you is the classic bait and switch. 2N Kenn is known as the used car salesman of aviation. Expect 75-80k for the first few years. We are in negotiations and the company is showing how cheap they really are. Don't waist your time here, go to a major or national if you are under 55.
