My point is working on individual contracts that can be amended from time to time and the sole discretion of the person who holds your right to work and live in country oh, and is also the regulator of the local flying authority, is not first world in nature.
How would you define second world, often called Devoloping Countries? Can you give a couple of examples?

Quote from Encyclopedia Britannica.

Third World, former political designation originally used (1952) to describe those states not part of the first world—the capitalist, economically developed states led by the U.S.—or the second world—the communist states led by the Soviet Union. When the term was introduced, the Third World principally consisted of the developing world, the former colonies of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. With the end of the Cold War and the increased economic competitiveness of some developing countries, the term lost its analytic clarity.

Dubai/UAE is by definition a Third World country.

It's funny how we have a well detailed SCOTUS dissenting opinion about what Golf is, but for (hardcore) porn, we have to just know it when we see it.

Your definition is obsolete. Here are very rough functional definitions.

If a country is thatched huts, no running water, no electricity, and people live on about $1 a day, they are third world.

If they live in homes with internet, have electricity, but may not have their own cars, they are developing countries (second world).

If they are the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, most of Europe, they are first world.

The UAE GDP is $50,000 per person, annually
The USA GDP is $76,000 per person, annually.

France GDP is $45,000 per person, annually. France is a first world country.
Egypt GDP is $5,000 per person, annually. Egypt is a developing country (second world)
Somalia GDP is $348 per person, annually. (Less than $1 per day.) Somalia is a third world country.

seems like one of those hypothetical situation based questions.

On a 100°+ day you are driving your gold plated Bentley with a drugged up tiger on the passenger seat to the indoor ski slope
You pass an unairconditioned school bus carrying 60 expat “laborers” that have just begun their 30th 12 hours shift in a row, from their shared 80sqft accommodation to
the 100 story residential tower, where they have to empty the waste tank because the entire neighborhood was built without sewage lines.

are you in a first or a third world country?

First, I would need to have said that, and did not. Speak for yourself, and not for me. I do very well, for myself.

I have lived and worked in both Saudi Arabia and in UAE; neither are third world by the classical, or general modern definition.

Can someone explain why so many videos online show Emirates A380s smashing into the pavement sideways before slaloming violently back and forth down the runway? Seems to happen a lot.
