All these airlines are playing the poaching game, they are not targeting unemployed and current 777 drivers, they are targeting the ones that might be ready for something new....., you would be surprised as to how many people are looking for change just for the sake of change, not really looking for something better, just different.

Non-typed you mean? Right now we are still fat on skippers, hiring is mostly for the right seat at the moment, somebody with a Japanese ATPL might have a shot but mostly they are upgrading F/O's. Although most of the guys that have the experience to upgrade will go through this year and they are doing a lot of hiring on the right seat of folks with low times (Qantas guys coming in with no PIC and less than 3 k total time) so those guys will not be upgrading within the first contract for sure, DEC's might be in the horizon again at some point.

Western airlines are a bit of a joke compared to the regions that you speak of, in terms of quality, product and service.
I have heard that quote from a number of international travelers.
US Carriers better get their act together or they will look like the US auto industry a few years back.

NCA has US bases as well. No one's complaining about that.
And FWIW, FedEx has bases in Germany and Hong Kong. It goes both ways. Heck United has FA bases all over the world, (LHR, NRT off the top of my head)... No complaints about that either.

US carriers can't discriminate WRT weight, beauty, or overall "frumpiness". Take any FA from Asia & compare them to a US FA.....really? The BMI index alone will take the prize. Not to mention the drastic difference in customer service, attitude, etc. Our "sack of potatoes" FAs will NEVER compete against the likes of the Asian carriers, QATAR, EMIRATES, etc. If you were a business traveler, what would you prefer? Exactly.

What they do want are clean airplanes that run on time. Good service during the flight. Reasonable food to eat. Comfortable, quiet sitting areas/lounges before boarding. And most of all, support when things go wrong.
United States airlines, and their MBA managers, fail on all of these counts. And a bunch of NFL cheerleader types in the cabin is not going to fix any of it.

It is not the FAs. And most business travelers, many of which are female these days, are not concerned about how hot the FA staff is.

Most pilots at the majors in the US lost their pensions in the last decade. The "golden handcuffs" are off. If Emirates offered N.A. bases, at competitive rates, I think you would be shocked at how many pilots would jump ship. Probably not the senior guys, but the mid level guys, who because of seniority and age, might never make wide body Captain at their airline.
More than enough for Emirates, Etihad, etc.

US airlines compared to the me and some eu airlines are a joke.
if they opened bases and had decent commutable schedules a lot of US pilots would jump ship. they already pay more than us carriers do as a total package. besides do not the managers of us airlines say we need concessions because the market demands that well the market demands quality and us airlines don't have that. so yes open bases here more opportunity for me to make better money and qol. US mainline swill have to dig in there pockets to keep the current pilots from leaving, win win either way for the pilots.
