Netjets and Flex are about the same. pay is a a bit better at netjets I think. Union at NJ so you have furlough protection, if that's something you want to factor in. Both have a lot of bases to choose from. Is there a certain place you want that you can mention?
XOjet doesnt pay as much, but with them you know you will fly either the challenger or the citation. At Flex or nets you might start in the phenom, and be there for a very long time. If that matters.

I had been considering FlexJet since they had been advertising a roughly 3 year upgrade to captain. Or XOJet since they have been advertising a 1-2 year upgrade to captain. Each place has a descent home basing option, which is something I want. The type of equipment doesn’t matter to me much at this point. I am sure that opinion will change as i gain more experience in the fractional world. I am also open to other larger stable part135 operators as well. An honest opinion of a newer guy at Flex would be awesome. I usually rely on a friend at the company to give me a good honest opinion, however i do not know anyone over at Flex to ask that.

hmm, not sure I buy the three year upgrade. that would be close to 100 upgrades a year and they have not been doing that many. So there would need to be a lot of growth and/or retirements.

So lets get this thread on a different track. Since I would agree that Fractional flying isn’t for everyone and not the best way to a Major. If you want to make it a career spot, with a faster upgrade, and make a bit more cash, what’s the best landing spot? Assuming you could pick anyone of them. Home based, roughly 7/7 or 8/6, or a combination/biding style schedule.
Yes, the upgrade at Netjets is retardedly long and won’t change much for a decade when the newly fossilized pilots like me start to retire. But if you get stuck, Netjets isn’t the worst place to be.
Nevertheless, if your career goal really is a major airline gig, don’t even THINK about a job in the fractional world. It just isn’t the smart thing to do.

XO Jet just filed FRP. They’re getter close to broke.
Upgrades right now are averaging 12 per month at NetJets.
That makes a 4.5 year upgrade time if upgrades continue at that pace. There’s no reason to believe they will stop for years given retirements and attrition.

XO guy here. We aren’t a FRAC. Strictly 135 on demand. Fly about 6-700 hrs per year. Upgrades very quick right now. 1 year on X and about 14 months 300. I am one who left a regional for this place. I got the quick upgrade and just nailed the 1000TPIC. That said. If I were in a different position at the time l I would probably stayed at regional or gone to ACM Carrier if you wanted to go to a Major. Pay here is pretty good and QOL is good IMO. We have lots of pilots leaving for SWA and several other Legacies. You will work here. Lots of fun flying and challenges. Most people here are hoping to move on so attrition will continue and should keep upgrades short, myself included. Feel free to PM with any Q’s.

NetJets is nothing like Flex without a Union now, it never will be.
Furlough protection is a joke anywhere. Let’s talk Pay, benefits, working conditions, stewards, all sorts of robust safety committee and avenues for pilots to protect their careers at NetJets.
Flex Boys voted all of that away.
PS... if you want major, go regional. Fractional is good but the majors aren’t looking here in general for new plots. Some make it but not any large numbers.
