This was the same reason I passed on the interview. Just too much money out of pocket for a interview for what my ROI would be. Considering that there are jobs out there who will skype interview or cover travel expenses. It helps that I am close to mind and chose to stick it what I am doing and just go 121 next.

I wish I knew exactly why I got the TBNT, so I could improve upon anything in my interviewing skills that might have been lacking.

I'm hoping to soon land an interview at Tradewinds (very close to where I live) as I submitted my resume to them yesterday.

800TT, no CFI, soon going to add my CMEL
We (Tradewind) are pretty heavy on SICs at the moment, I don't think they have any SIC classes planned, so don't feel bad if you won't hear anything for a while. Great company though and always worth applying.

But they pay your flight to the interview at least

Boy! I'm glad I chose a November interview date, I was seriously considering doing something later but it looks like they're filling classes as they go. I got Feb initially but I elected to wait until summer because of university.

Question

Hey quick question for ya PS guys

I'm a CFI currently and have a pretty sweet gig instructing (they pay quite well and it's very part time, only maybe 15 hours a month). I also am soon to start ground school.

I noticed that they say you need approval to have another job, and was wondering if any of the planesense pilots did this? Like is it near unheard of to fly on the side a little bit or is that common? I figure even though I'll be pretty dead after 8 days on, it would still be nice to get a little side cash with my 6 days off. I also have a student I'd like to take to checkride in the next few months but will understand if any side flying is a no-go.

You're not going to want to but I had no problem getting some survey jobs approved. Friends had no problems getting CFI jobs approved.

Being a CFI on the side is easily approved. One of our pilots is a DPE.

Haha, yeah, I figured I'd get that. I'll see but it's a very flexible schedule and only like 20 minutes from my house. Probably will plan on just having the one student. Thanks!!
