I didn't realize the regionals, at least some of them had raised their pay substantially. What happens after the first year when the bonus goes away? Without those bonuses, the salary looks more like $35K. And the way I read the recruiting ads, the bonus amounts were listed as "up to" those amounts. My guess is you max out if you have some previous 135 or 121 hours in your logbook. Does anyone know? How long before you upgrade to the left seat? The Envoy site seems to suggest 4 years.
While the exact pay scale isn't in the public domain, I'd wager that most of the pilots at NA are making more than the regional salary quoted.
I guess it comes down to quality of life. I have no interest in living in any of the domiciles for the two carriers mentioned and there is no way I'd want to commute and live in a crash pad while on reserve.

The busload of friendly, pretty girls arrived
In other words, quoting myself with my favorite new analogy, "The busload of friendly, pretty girls has finally showed up to the Embry-Riddle dance", and the mean ones that have been running the show for so long just don't know how to deal with this "pilot shortage", or shortage of pilots willing to be underpaid, mistreated, and denigrated. The Nicholas Air's, Executive Airshare's, Travel Management, etc. are getting their wake up call and must adapt (like the regionals like Envoy, PSA, etc. with improved bonuses, payscales, and direct, no-interview flows to mainline) if they intend to survive. The days of the 12 on/ three off schedule ( or even 10/5 ) and draconian management style are finally coming to an end.
Executive Airshare has moved in the right direction with schedule, as has Wheels Up. TMC , I guess, is finally getting their vacation BACK... When the the Homecoming Queen, Fedex, is getting stood up with no-shows for even one of its classes, times are getting better for us all.
If you've ever been to an Embry Riddle dance, you know what I mean....
