There was a rumor that the company and union were meeting about hiring with pilots still on COLA-0s and the new hires being hired into COLA-0 status. An agreement could not be reached. Again, rumor only. Maybe someone with more of a stethoscope on the union walls could confirm or deny...

That's too bad. Theres a lot of pilots from the defunct regionals that could use a light at the end of the tunnel.

What Xdashdriver said. It’s just keeping the company from having it’s cake and eating it too. Those same guys and gals will be hired, just a month or two later and now with a paycheck. It would have also forced the company’s hand to not unnecessarily delay bringing back all of our people in order to simply squeeze a penny.

Not complaining about the agreement already reached, but the company made out pretty well and already has no incentive to bring any ELS back a second before 4/1. Hiring before everyone is back would be over the line and inappropriate, but that’s just one dudes opinion.

Oh, I’m in complete agreement. Believe me, my post wasn’t expressing any sort of disappointment. I was just saying that it seems the union was able to hold a hard line if the rumor is true. If the union had anything to do with it, I would have been disappointed to see us hire with people still on the street.

My bad I just used your post as a frame of reference, I didn’t think you were for it. I can’t really imagine anyone who would or why other than a little jump on seniority gain.
