I think it is a combination of a training bubble and trying to spread out the sim availability. Second - Indigo loves a broke pilot. Open time is scarce and when it does hit FLICA it is gone within seconds.
The latest vacancy captain bid didn't even cover attrition. I would not expect any movement until a new base is announced.

Speaking of new bases. They should be announcing something soon since they've said 2 new bases in 2019. I'm speculating by end of May there will be an announcement.

Was originally in the May class, now in the pool and “estimated” July/August class.

I signed an offer letter for the April class and just received notice that I would be back in the pool indefinitely with an expectation of July or August.

I’m a little nervous to say the least.

Welcome aboard. Sorry about the delay.

Unfortunately we negotiated a contract that allows less pilots on the property. PBS hasn’t even started yet.
It was also negotiated under the pretense that everyone would be a captain before the contract expired. That’s not going to happen either.

Don't be nervous, if you want to be here you WILL have a class. Frontier is growing, Indigo simply cares about saving every possible penny and the new contract has changed the way pilots pick up/drop and call in sick. Now they think we are over staffed. They never hire much over the summer, in fact, the thought that they even have classes over the summer is out of the norm.

As for the new base, I'd expect end of June announcement for Sept 1 opening, that base most likely being RDU.

The problem is, if the pilots decide they'd like a little more time off we will very suddenly be very under staffed. Realistically this probably won't happen until Nov/Dec.
