Just out of curiosity, any advice on here on whether to fly for American or Frontier?
I live in Atlanta and Frontier has a base here. I've also been interested in Frontier from the beginning since they seem to fly to vacations spots which sounds a lot more fun than some of the other places airlines fly too. I'm retiring from the Air Force, so flying for a LCC with about 20% less pay would be worth it for me if the schedule at Frontier is easier though. On the other hand American does pay more and I could commute to Chicago and potentially eventually move there. I checked AA class drops and new hires are going to Chicago and my family lives there so no need for a crashpad. I feel like most will say go American but just thought I'd ask to get some feedback positive or negative either way.

Hourly rates are not enough information to determine this “simple math.” As a CA on 7th year pay I’ll be making over $45k this month. That’s with vacation and several premium trips, but all in I’m just a few hours shy of 200 credit. 16 days off as well. This is the type of stuff that I’m nervous about losing in our next contract. I’d be surprised if you can credit close to 200 hours at AA in a single month.

The most junior FO 777 award is 7 years on property at AA. Speculation now with movement that it will drop to around 5 years and you will be firmly on reserve.

For those of you interviewing at F9 that don't get the CJO don't worry. I have two friends that got turned down at F9 recently. Both below 3500 TT. Both ZERO TPIC, BOTH with Checkride Failures early on. Both got Interviews and CJO's from Delta within 3 months of getting turned down by F9. Sometimes not getting the offer is a blessing in disguise. Good luck to all.

Funny enough I failed the delta assessment while waiting on my F9 background to clear. And I got the TBNT from UAL back in Jan. It didn’t bother me much cause it would have been a commute forever.

Why do people act like working here is some sort of prison sentence? Is money the only thing people care about now? Is it being able to tell the local crackhead at the bar you fly for a Legacy? Do you need more ex wives?

. I'm sure there are people that didn't get hired at NK, F9, G4 and did end up at DL, UA, AA. But show me how many left the legacies to come to the ULCCs VS the other way around. And (spoiler), it's not just the money. I'm pretty happy at NK, but for people getting hired right now that have a choice.......
