Gents,

Sometimes you yanks are your own worst enemy. If this Ek Captain "washed out" then it is a huge loss to your airline and says plenty regarding the standards of your training department. I would not have a better Captain during a catastrophic event than him. Simply stated, he has proved himself in an event that should have been a hull lost in all practical standards.

Without going into details, he had a tragic lost in his family where he chose to take care of his remaining children. He walked away from a senior leadership role and prioritize his family. When he resigned, Ek management chose to not honour it and had him remain on the seniority list. That's speaks heaps about the respect he has earned.

I simply could not let anyone drag his professional persona regardless if he "washed out."

someone sounds bitter. Frontier is the new regional. Don’t hate a group of guys because of their education level or success. College 121 programs are some of the most grueling training programs. That’s why airlines love to hire grads from certain schools and we have such a pristine reputation. If you didn’t make it to a major don’t blame the well educated smart FO sitting next to you. He’s just putting his time in like the rest of us.

In Europe cant you go from 250hrs to a 737 or similar airplane? I don’t think that’s the issue.

Ha! Totally. The most common reputation for Riddle grads is that they can be - with some exceptions - massive tools.

Make it to a Major yet? I assume not because basically everything you say is your post is wrong but I’m going to chalk that up to inexperience. Anyway if you have any hiring or training questions feel free to ask.

That is justification to retrain or recalibrate the check pilot or the instructors.

Well I think the question was regarding the failure rate and I have no idea what that rate is in Europe. I also think IF that failure rate is true it may be an outlier. Seems pretty excessive since I thought we bolstered the training footprint a bit to accommodate the reduced experience incoming?
