If you can live in a domicile at Frontier, I'd highly recommend it.

PHX is almost for sure opening as a base in the spring/summer so the answer is PHX. It will be fairly senior, but still way better than commuting from DFW.

Thanks!
I guess let me expand/rephrase my question. We currently live in PHX. Wife's long-term desire is to live in DFW.
What is the most reasonable base to hope for in the short term/long term assuming I got hired in the next ~6 months?
This thread topic could be roughly summarized "commuting sucks, commuting to F9 is almost unbearable." That weighs into my decision to even pursue F9 since I'm basically planning to not live in a base!

From what I understand; commuting is no worse than other Majors at Frontier; though thats route/airline dependent.
Once you hold a line, there is a great amount of flexibility. I don't think I flew one leg that I didn't want to the last 3 months. That said, I live in base. so there's your answer.
If you were hired in the last 6 months you'd most likely have been awarded MIA or TPA. With 2 new bases likely opening in the next 6 months there's no way to know; but I imagine we'd follow a similar footprint to other Airlines. PHX will be relatively senior, ATL in the middle. So Florida again I expect. Long Term -you could hold anywhere as an FO.
CA Denver (and possibly PHX) will take several years...
Be careful what you wish for; our management are extremely shrewd. If we're moving towards a more day trip focussed model; others likely won't be far behind. If you get your 'DFW Based" airline job, are you close enough to DFW to drive to work & back every day like a regular office worker? All your 'living in base' advantages can evaporate if you face a 2hr drive in each direction because you're on the wrong side of town..
