Well I hope thats true. It'll be tough for them to say they can't afford to pay us with double digit margins.

Yep. We're not getting anything from a business that is barely breaking even.

You'd make more money flying a 320 4 short legs than a 330 on just one leg. 4x the bag fees, 4x the seat fees etc.

The other problem is utilization. When the aircraft are all on monthly lease payments you need to run as many flights/ hours as possible. Again, doesn't work well easily for long haul flights.

Long haul low cost has been a major problem or a flat out failure business model. If the big, experience jet is only going to fly 1 or 2 legs a day, it needs the mega expensive 1st class revenue
Not entirely true, ULCC wide body longhaul has been happening for a very long time in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. There must be a case model for it and a way to make it work. A330s and B787s are being run as ULCC at a number or airlines.

“Frontier gate agent refuses to let passenger board without payment”

Really hiring the tip of the spear over there.

gate agents are not Frontier employees..which, admittedly, is a problem at times.

Atlanta, in my experience, is worse than other stations….but I’d like the whole story. If he wasn’t there when they closed the door, he wasn’t there…plain and simple. No gate agent will tell you if you have enough time to leave the gate area. Not saying it didn’t happen, I’d just like the whole story.

well the story isn’t all bad. Look on the bright side. When they were shaking him down at least they offered him the military discount. 🙄

DOT fined Frontier $650,000 for late flights. Follows a similar move against JetBlue and SWA.
