Maybe mgmt is setting the stage to explain future poor earnings...."revenue was down because we didn't fly enough block hours in the fall to utilize our planes/crews efficiently."

The day turn model failed quicker than I expected. Time to close all the bases we have opened since COVID and go back to four day trips.

the main issue is our contractor’s inability to do their Job. It doesn’t help when you’re doing a “turn” but have to tail swap and you’re keeping the basin crew. Arrive no bridge driver, do all post activities and get to new plane and no gate agent to let you down. Half the time I’m doing tail swaps. The company just can’t run this place smoothly right now. But that’s what you get when every department is run so thin. Turns could work just fine. Biffy just doesn’t want to pay for it.

Can work up to 50-60%. Destinations 2-3.5 hours apart. Otherwise it's either too short or too long.

why would "the model fail" ?
rampers who don't exist, impact a day turn versus a 4-day trip operation equally the same. No jetbridge drivers are no jetbridge drivers, "day turn" or not.
Orlando rampers watching soccer matches on TV, while we taxi in, do not care if it is a "day turn" operation or not.
Barry and company want to completly get out of hotels, post-Cancun/union grievances, he hates hotels. So if he could, we would have NO hotel costs. Training at super-base Denver and Orlando will soon result in YOU, paying for YOUR hotel room, if you are "based" there but a commuter.
Day turns WILL work. Barry will make them work.
The beatings continue until morale improves.
