Yes, on the street. The company going under is ALWAYS the counter balance. It's the age old question - does a billionaire want less profit (paying labor market rates) or NO profit.
And, BB did a lot of damage, probably take at least the time he was in charge (12 years) to undue. Many don't have that much time.

honestly, I think he did whatever he thought might work out. Did it end up being a lot of damage yes I did but during United bankruptcy do you remember Ted that seemed like it might work who knows I’m not an airline executive. Also Barry was only there for less than 10 years because I met him when he was about to take over from Siegel in 2015.
No wifi despite all other airlines (including Spirit) having it?
Building a network that flies to cities twice a week?
Removing the toll free # to contact the airline for legit issues (like refunds when the flight cancels and the next is in 4 days)?
Incentivizing the industry's lowest paid gate agents to charge customers for oversized bags?
A public video from the aircraft lavatory?
I'm sure you have your own...

That's the point. He was actually trying. He was just lousy at it.

Essentially he just reiterated the earnings call. Yields and loads are slowly improving. Costs are far too high because we don’t fly enough on off peak days and utilization is in the dump as a result. First class seats still aren’t ready but should be here by years end. WiFi in a couple of years. We can’t rely on SLB anymore. We have to be profitable as an airline. Growth in ATL and west coast due to Spirit vacancies. Specifically mention LAS as a large yield improvement with Spirit leaving. Trying to improve maintenance in various ways, and automation during turns to improve on time performance.

Pilots are generally going to be ****ed off about what they heard (contract timeline) but IMO it’s very refreshing to hear JD talk vs BB. He admits our problems and says what we have all been saying for years. Hopefully not too little too late.

automation has so very little to do with our on time performance. Rarely, if ever, have I been late leaving because I’m waiting for passenger or bag counts. The bigger problems are waiting to be RTS, or giving 55 minutes to turn a fully loaded 321. If they can automate cleaning crews it might help.

They (probably) have better stats than we ever could imagine regarding on time performance. It still sounds like head start and better preventative maintenance is the key. This quote you highlighted was regarding the times we are late by 1-2 minutes. Yes I think RTS automation could help us tremendously. Being fixed and sitting for any thing more than a few minutes is insane to me. Hopefully that is an easy fix and fast.
