I agree that the current administration is unlikely to allow us to strike but hopefully we can move through the RLA process and at least get to the point where the threat of a strike is there. Maybe then they will come up the table for real.

They solved the staffing problem (temporarily) by paying for training hotels and allowing the company to raise first year pay (up to whatever percentage of second year pay) at their discretion. But now our Captain's get paid less than a mainline FO. Whoever voted yes on that POS needs to take a hard look in the mirror.. but they all are probably at United by now anyway. The only way I see us getting a contract is via a merger, a strike, or when the regionals exceed our rates. Meanwhile we will continue to be the type rating factory for other A320 operators. RLA needs to go. We aren't a GD railroad.

Joking aside, i think the risk of an actual walkout will bring them to the table. They won't risk the losses a strike would cause. But, we need to get the NMB to move us along to that point.

History proves otherwise. They’ve gone all the way past the threat to the strike.

Right, they did do that. Once. And I don't think they felt it worked out. The result was a 4 day stopping of the airline and then the pilots got some good gains in the contract. I don't think the bluff played out well for Indigo. I suspect they won't do that again.
