We just had the strike bus go to all bases with events in each base. Having a meeting or meet-and-greet in all 13 bases each month would require immense resources. There would need to be 4-5 pilots on full-time FPL. It doesn't happen with the current MEC/LEC reps questioning the 2-3 negotiating committee reps taking FPL.

If you want to see change, it starts at the LEC level(MCO and DEN specifically.)

As for day turns and line construction, I'll be the first to say I'm not happy with it, but we were stupid enough to agree to the current contract with no protections in place. The company is building pairings per the current contract. We can address some of the issues in a new contract.
Exactly! Trip mix NEEDS to be in the next contract (Maybe 35% 1 day /30% 2 day/20% 3 day/15% 4 day?), same with Snap Up. NO VOTE FOR ME OTHERWISE.

I agree. The language and percentages are in the proposal. No need to guess at them.
We have a comprehensive proposal on the table right now. Management doesn’t.

Dude, they have phones. Use yours. Pick it up and call your rep. You don’t know who your rep is or which council your in or why we don’t have reps for each of our tiny bases? If this is the case, you haven’t been paying attention.

My rep is literally available 24/7.

Call your Rep.

Percentage of each pairing is not the same flying percentages.

For example

25% 3days and 75% 1days is equal distribution in terms of block hours generally speaking

You can have 4 times as many 1day pairings as 4day pairings and they would be evenly distributed.

Not directed at you but I just went on the alpa site. There’s documentation for the last 75 meetings. Some of these documents contain annual budgets. Took me all of 3 mins to find these. But yet there’s no transparency. GMAB.

Yeah the language is “of all block hrs”. For seat and domicile. They get relief but must provide hotels if not meeting a % when requested.

anyone upset about turns should’ve left during the hiring wave. Seniority was rapidly increasing everywhere else and the threat of day trips was on the horizon here. The writing was on the wall but you still decided to stay here to save 3 years of seniority and commute, but now complain. Sorry for the hard to swallow pill but it’s the truth. You done frigged up

Why put one foot in front of the other and do something about your problems (during the greatest hiring frenzy any of us will ever see) when you can just b*tch on the internet instead?

The Union needs to hear from the pilot group in a real face to face way, and we don't have it now. Just look at this discussion our pilots are unsure how hard to push to save money for the company. I don't know who my LEC's name is or what that person looks like. For good reason because it would what good would it do. I never see them, hear them, or have any Idea what their up to. That makes it hard to have ANY KIND OF SOLIDARITY. You want the pilot group to stand behind the Union? Have some goddam meetings. Encourage the pilot group to attend. There needs to be a lot of them because this company wastes so much of eveyones time with the line construction and day turns. It's a tough break ,but we need to adapt if there is any hope of solidarity.
You're very confused about how this works. First of all, the union is us. We are the union. Solidarity comes from each one of us following our orders and sticking together. The power comes from each of us on the line, not from the top. If you don't know what to do, call a rep. If you don't know who that is, log on to the Alpa website.

I am astounded by the misdirected anger among our pilot group.

You all are mad at the union and not the company. Honestly, it's almost unbelievable and deeply concerning. The company is the one we are fighting against, the union is the one on our side fighting the company on your behalf. I shouldn't have to say that but a lot of you seem to have gotten confused.

You guys can't both be mad that union guys are getting FPL and at the same time be mad that they aren't doing more work for you. You guys want the union to apply public pressure on the company but get mad when someone drives the strike bus (a mobile billboard) to the location Biffle is giving a public speech with media present.

You want the union to listen to your demands but get mad when the reps get a day off to meet with the negotiating committee to explain to them your demands.

The union is sitting on a pile of cash but you guys all get mad that they might spend it fighting on your behalf.

The company is going to do absolutely everything single thing in their power to not pay you another penny. They aggressively don't want to compensate you like United and Delta. They don't care about you. You are nothing more than a line item on their budget and they want that number to be as small possible.

Please for the love of God, stop attacking the union. We need to be unified. Unified against the company. The union is our team.

BTW, in the past I used to be accused of being a company insiders and in the chief pilots office. I say that to make clear how out of wack the pilot group has gotten regarding the union. If a guy who has frequently been called a management troll on these forums is telling you that you have your anger misdirected, you should recognize how screwed up the thinking here has gotten. Get behind the union. We have a long hard fight ahead and we are never going to get this done b|thing about our own team in this fight.
