41 from 8/1 to 8/31. 8 of those are greater than 5 years seniority.

Anyone have the number for the August new hire class to compare the hiring to the attrition?

Idk how the training department is going to keep up. They struggle with 50.

They won’t and they can’t. We will not grow until the legacies slow hiring significantly or management straightens up and gets this thing righted, and with an industry standard contract.

An industry standard contract isn’t needed. All that’s needed is industry standard PAY - which the company could do tomorrow if they wanted. Alaska just got new rates out of cycle. I’m sure other airlines are thinking about doing the same thing as they are hemorrhaging too.

Running an airline is just like any other business. If you can’t hire, you raise pay until you can. To raise pay, you raise prices. We’re already ULCC, there’s no reason we can’t be not quite ultra but still pretty LCC.

Not a disagreement but I head heard AK was losing 30 pilots a month as well even after their initial contract gains. Now that they raised it again recently we will see if that makes the difference. That is if the rumor is true.
