Complaining about MM right now is easy kill as the decision to cancel the picket event was clearly a bad one. I think he knows this and I'm sure is focused on stepping up efforts because of it. TBH, there have been other actions of this union I haven't totally agreed with.

But ANYONE whining about TPL and the like of the MEC is completely ignorant. In fact, ANYTIME you want to be the MEC, stop typing and run a campaign. Get elected and take ZERO TPL and do ALL THE THINGS YOU'RE DEMANDING he do.

Until then **** about pay loss and the MEC. There may be others (some committee member, maybe even a LEC somewhere) but not the MEC Chairman. I don't know everything he does but I'm sure it's more than most want to do.

Nearly 1,000 days into negotiations, and the new CEO says there’s no plan for a contract in 2026.

I was expecting a stronger response from the union.

I guess… there’s always 2027.

Is that what he said?

He said that a new contract wasn't in their full year financial guidance.

And also, we aren't getting a contract any time soon

The average time to negotiate a contract under the RLA is 4 years. It blows, but it's true.

I suspect we will be even longer than that

You don't mention that negotiations generally came to a hault for two years during Covid. Do you recall furloughs and early outs taking priority? What's your angle, man?

Aero wasn’t wrong about what he said. Prior to COVID it was still about 4 years. It’s never been quick for anybody

No angle, just stating a fact. Lots of new to the industry folks here. Contract negotiating under the RLA is incredibly slow and painful.

Aero is pretty reasonable, even if people don’t want to admit it. It’s likely going to be drawn out even further. The pilot group has no leverage due to the hiring programs. Period. The changes in fleet growth only compound the lack of leverage. I don’t blame the pilots who benefited from them, but watching the same pilots complain about not having a new contract is ironic. I’m not saying you specifically benefited from any of those programs but see it quite often.
