Not entirely sure... But it is good to hear we are making progress, even if it is small. Next session will be the true test of how much JD really cares about everything he has been saying the last few months

Perhaps.

All this about the network, fleet plans, Atlanta is great. I'm sure HE thinks that plan will work. I'm sure he's just as convinced about it that BB was about his.

No business ever thrives long term w/o taking care of its customers and employees. None. Nilch. Nada. Nyirt. None. F9 may profit a quarter or 2 here or there, but until the labor contracts are dealt with, expect lipstick on this pig.

Yep, but from the sound of it, it also seems like that is part of his plan. We will see. Getting employees on board should be step 0.

Walmart and Amazon have crushed it pretty hard. They treat their employees like crap and at least one of them treats their customers like crap too.

Yeah, but a lot of what they sell is stuff people need, and use or eat on a daily basis. We don’t.

you could easily say that flights are stuff people need more than anything you could buy on Amazon.

if you have to get from Denver to Atlanta what options do you have besides flying? Drive for two days?

You couldn't make that claim without setting up a false equivalency.

CG is talking about market necessity. Low-cost items that customers buy all the time.

You are talking about functional necessity. In this case, a customer's choices aren't reduced to only fly F9 or drive. (I realize you didn't say fly F9, but I took that implicitly in your response.) There's also don't travel, or fly with a competitor.

If F9 treats their customers like crap, they don't stop flying. They just stop flying F9.

Edit: Minor changes.

I got some bad news for you. These two are going to be a function of supply and demand, and not rooted in any sort of absolute truth.

Particualy the idea that they’re going to treat labor well, when you can shake a tree and a pilot, FA, or gate agent is going to fall out

I just don’t have the same confidence as you saying that.

You have examples of any business with long term success that doesn't in a market with 9 competitors? Regardless of the employee, they're all HUMAN and can vote w/ their feet at any time. Sooner or later (sooner w/ social media), you mistreat them enough and you have little of either.
