That actually happened. Company brought in a post from stifler’s mom where he/she was suggesting doing something against status quo last round. Can’t remember exactly what but it was hard to not just start laughing.
This thread has turned into so much of a dumpster fire of misinformation/springer show we’re probably safe with that.

During the contract talks at NK there were a lot of people calling for not doing premium on APC. NK succesfully managed to sue both the union and individual memebers into submission with APC screenshots as evidence. It is the reason you see this on every APC page:

"### It is against the APC Forum Rules to advocate any labor action which is not authorized by the RLA/NMB. This applies to ANY wildcat actions, including slowdown, work-to-rules, withdrawal of enthusiasm (WOE), sickouts, etc. It is irrelevant whether the union itself has anything to do with the action. Major unions have lost court cases and in one instance suffered severe financial damage in the process. Online posts, including anonymous posts and posts made here on APC, have been used in lawsuits against unions. Many major airlines are in negotiations at this time, and many are contentious. We have been contacted by major union legal teams regarding this issue. The rules here have not changed, but the enforcement will now result in a 30 day ban from APC for violations. Please don't sabotage your own union's efforts on your behalf."

yup. I believe a judge ruled IP addresses could be used for tracking individuals to figure out who was posting what? That’s what we were told at the time but never really looked into the extent or if that was done or not. Thanks for the reminder.

Union leaders were named and sued as individuals, and AFAIR so were a few vocal pro-strike type actions (without approval) pilots. People were subpoena'd. There was a gravytrain.com or something like that website that published the names of pilots that were doing premium. I am all for pushing as hard as legally allowed, but don't think you can beat the company and their lawyers if you don't follow the advise of your union.

Thanks to you and jetskipper for the reminders. I’m sure some pilots here just view me as a union apologizer. That’s fine but I just try to keep discussions factual.

I do remember that "Stifler's Mom" reference - I did LMAO.

And it's a good thing you're here to clarify all the misinformation...

Ask the pilots at United how they know.

The Union asking the pilots to "Fly the Contract" now has legal precedence and a court will rule in favor of the company every time.
This illegal job action hurt the United pilots horribly. That is why they were ultimately rewarded with such a bad contract and have such a horrible contract now.

That equivalent compensation included the need for the flexibility to add and/or swap trips from OT as well as during vacation periods. Ie. picking up trips wasn't just available - it has always been NEEDED and celebrated as part of the design.

This is the only point I was trying to make.[/QUOTE]

You’re not wrong with this paragraph but you’re looking at one side of the coin with respect to vacation.
more credit=more days off. Specifically 2 when compared to other agreements last round. So right there I’m getting 2 more days off. If you want to make equivalent compensation pick up 2 days. You’re now at the same days off and same compensation as others. I’ll take the two days off. We’re both happy. I don’t really want to be forced to work two more days in an vac month no matter what the rate is.That’s what was celebrated. Options.

The ability to add flying over vacation was a provision that didn’t change last round.

Outside of vacation months the over 82 plus the fact multiple other agreements had credit caps allowed for making equivalent compensation. This is where I agree with removing that provision for higher rates in the next agreement. Unfortunately that polled high as something nobody wanted to give up last time.

let’s call it good on debating any non status quo strategies.
