That doesn’t make sense to me. Why would the mediator care about the union’s infighting. All he has to care about is that the NC shows up to a scheduled meeting.

Thats what I was thinking, but we haven't seen a NN yet. I think they usually came out fridays, but maybe some come monday. I can't even remember because I see them so infrequently....

This is a beyond stupid rumor. Mediators don’t subscribe to news about union politics. Our union NC is on a remote island and is the face of our union in mediation. Outstanding grievances and public statements by the MEC are the only other channels that are visible to the mediator unless the company files against us for an illegal work action (which is very rare).

That is what I figured. I hope we get a NN soon with some somewhat decent/good news in it.

I was told this is 100% accurate. Parked until an MEC is in place.

yet would should employ a high mec turnover rate strategy until we find the right person. Hopefully that bad idea can be put to rest.

Great job to our union for really speeding this process forward. I think its time to get rid of most and start clean.

So we should all expect this in the next newsletter?

Not sure how no MEC affects negotiations. UA had TONS of infighting during their last negotiation - nothing stopped or slowed for them.
