If current traditional training methods are unsafe, or not considered safety focused, then take your findings to the New York Times, CNN, Fox and screaming how these methods are unsafe and putting passengers at undue risk.
just a suggestion, you might wanna bring some major evidence with you. Not just opinions and feels.

AQP is not really a safety item. It’s a different training philosophy. Our current training program already has a lot of commonalities with a future AQP program. AQP saves the company money by bringing crews in for training once a year or every nine months instead of twice a year.
Since we already are in contract negotiations I would prefer if the union did not negotiate an LOA for AQP. If the company wants it badly enough let them come to the table and make it part of the new contract. AQP is the industry standard now and it saves money. If however the union decides to negotiate an LOA for AQP, they’d better get something big in return right away.

AQP is NOT A SAFETY PROGRAM, it is a training program. It is simply a different way to train - much like a syllabus or procedural change (but more involved of course). In fact, AQP is probably LESS SAFE than the current. Any airline can build a unique/custom training program that is MILES better than AQP - but no one does because it's more costly (and takes longer to get approved). The only reason we did was because the FAA made us. AQP is the MINIMUM standard that is simply easier/cheaper to utilize and the approval process is much less time consuming.
There is no reason that any pilot group should vote to implement this in via LOA. If it is wanted that badly (and needs to be voted in), then it should be collectively bargained for.
If no vote is required and the company can simply "decide" to implement it, I would have no problem with that. The company decides all kinds of things (like mostly turns model) which is significantly more impacting - AQP is probably the least of my worries. In fact, I'd be interested to see what "value" the union puts on it. If it is nothing/zero, the "good faith" union consent brings might be worth it.
But I doubt it.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it takes just as long for us but I think our results will be better. That is my hope at least.

1.26 inflation.
1.11 pay increase.
1.11/1.26 = .88ish
12% cut assuming 26/11 are accurate.
Your point is still valid.
