I see what you’re saying here but the lists wouldn’t merge for some time. Considering deliveries of new aircraft at F9 and high attrition and even cancellations of the latest furloughs at Spirit it seems logical that they would hire at Frontier for a bit. NK and F9 need to keep their airlines running separately until a merge. IF it even happens.

If Spirit is losing 3 million a day as reported by various sources, there might not be enough time to perform a merger to capture all the cost efficiencies.

It’s always interesting conversation when talking about SLI. Can be contentious though. NK has just been looking for a lifeline to keep jobs. Funny thing is how these situations turn the same people just trying to stay employed to telling everyone how much they deserve. Just an observation, still not convinced it will happen.

I hate to break it to you and every other pilot in the industry from Delta all the way down to the regionals, but every pilot is just an "employee". Its NOT your company, its the shareholders company. They own it, you work for them and thats it. If they want a M&A that benefits themselves, then they will do it. Same as every other industry. The airline industry has had M&A for decades and we will see more M&A in the future. You are just along for the ride and work for them. This is what you signed up for as an "employee". If you dont like it, you can gladly quit and go start a company or business and then you can be in charge. Pilots are along for the ride!

wow, I didn’t realize you were the CEO. It’s amazing how you would know that you want to explain your factual source or stop pulling stuff out of your rear the fact of the matter is no one knows whether it’s going to happen or not and the only ones who actually do are not gonna say anything because non-disclosure agreement can get you arrested if you violate them and no one‘s gonna risk getting sued or going to jail to spread rumors the fact remains we will all find out early in the morning randomly one day from the news media and then an hour later. We’ll get an email from the company announcing it until that happens. No one actually knows anything.

The company has already decided they are not merging.

As far as shrsailplanes If you don't like it here at F9 you should be working harder to move on. If you can't move on because of time or whatever just be glad to be sitting in an Airbus. All Companies hire based on Attitude If you can't put together a good one you better settle in for the long haul. If the operation gets to you to much consider Sky West. A lot of interviews are setup to be long to ware you down just to see if you will bad mouth your current employer. You might be better off working at a company you can be proud of before you able to move on. At any rate judging by your comments over the past few months you seem toxic. The longer you hold onto that the more damage it will do to you.

Lots of blind speculation here. Very entertaining.
Here's some more - what we do think/know:
NK is in MERGE NOW (as in the next 15-30 days mode) from what we all think. Can NK continue to operate until 1 Jan? 31 May? All of 2026? Who knows? I suppose it's possible to continue to dig a hole deeper if someone else continues to give you the shovel. But that someone is gonna want $ on the back end to make it worth their while (banks aren't stupid).
People tend to forge that F9 is also hemorrhaging cash. While Indigo has deep pockets, F9 is just one of many businesses and the right "deal" must be available for Indigo to pull the trigger on the acquisition of Nk. Keep in mind that Indigo purchased F9 many years ago in the same way. Pennies on the dollar is the only way this works.
So, let's say that's possible. If F9 were to purchase NK, both airlines would probably continue to operate as separate entities for at least a year (probably 2). That means of course that both airlines would continue to operate a substantial losses for the time being w/ NO GUARANTEE that the merged product would become financially viable. WHICH IS THE BILLION DOLLAR QUESTION - merging two unprofitable airlines = one bigger more profitable one OR one bigger even more unprofitable one?
I suppose Barry couldn't answer that question to the satisfaction of Franke and is now selling insurance. We'll see if this new guy can. Regardless, there's a sh!tton of work that needs to be done prior to the 1st real consideration of a JCBA (which itself would probably take 6 to 9 months or longer) which is a prerequisite for any SLI. If the merger happened TODAY, the SLI would be in 2028-9.
