Frontier Hiring.

well, for the most part i agree with you. i went to obap in atlanta last year. i have to say that there were several non minority pilots there searching for jobs. mostly it was a good experience and these things are always a great opportunity to network
i did however see a few minor instances where we weren't treated so well. some of the american recruiters called out some of my non minority friends for being there only to use the organization to hawk a job.
i had a skywest pilot or two throw some not too subtle comments my way about being the wrong "color" at the wrong show (or whatever that is supposed to mean) all the while looking at me like i was a cockroach stealing their jobs or something..........they came across as jerk wads anyway...
however, i just took it with a smile on my face and kept on keeping on. i suggest you not worry about it and go.

Indeed it's not what it used to be but F9 is starting to get it's legs back... Remember, 35 years ago if you had a choice between eastern and delta and you chose delta, you were an idiot... 35 years ago, southwest was a bunch of cowboys from Texas who flew a few airplanes around the state... Now they're making $215/hr to fly a narrow body around the country... To say that frontier is a crappy job is short sighted and narrow minded... The ULCC model is 1% of domestic flying... Sure people **** and moan about it but there are literally thousands of untapped markets and infinite growth possibilities... If frontier has fewer than 130 airframes in the next 6 or 7 years, I would be shocked
The pay at frontier is pretty horrible... No one at the airline or in the industry will even try to question that... Just because its bad now, doesn't mean it will be bad forever... Remember, 10 years ago frontier had the highest starting first year pay of any domestic airline... There are pay snaps coming and an amendable CBA in 2017... F9 will get paid... We'll essentially be 2 contracts behind spirit and just digging our way out of a concessionary deal
This industry is cyclical... It will go up and down... Right now delta looks like the best deal... It might not be in 5 years... It could very well be in 3 or 4 years that people will be banging down the door to get into frontier... I don't know but the airline community is a small one and to just post that F9 sucks doesn't appear to be a very well thought out way to endear yourself to anyone in the aviation circle... I can tell you this... The only reason frontier is even still around is BC of the pilots and flight attendants... There's a good group of people here and its the reason I decided to join the ranks...
I wish you much good fortune

Excellent theory. Also remember, the NEW Frontier has been around since the early to mid 90s. Although a semi mature Airline, they still have not reinvented themselves. One of these days, their niche will be defined. Meanwhile, rest assure, the doors have and will be open through the thick and thin (look at the country's economic history and how Frontier avoided closure during the bad times (albeit by slim margins).
Now bring it on! ATL!! Home of Delta!!!!

The 'niche' you suggest, has already been defined & Proven (regardless of how we, the employee's feel).

The ULCC, aka SPIRIT (the Current Owners of FRONTIER, Previously owned Airline).
The 'slim margin' was a Miracle (that Saved ~2.000 jobs; - 1,200 for about 2 yrs) - Thank You for the Support.

Thank You for Your kind words.
Enjoy your day.

Since there is no pilot shortage, it appears frontier is a bit on the picky side. While reading the gouge, it suggest that only about 30 perfect of folks are being offered jobs. Can anyone comment on what they are looking for, or does frontier really even know? I think it would be a good place to work and has lots of potential.
